In reviewing the contents of this book and its accompanying CDs, we humbly stand before God the Father and Jesus Christ, praising Them with thanksgiving for Their love, mercy and grace—and for Their awesome plan for mankind as revealed by the Sabbath and annual holy days. It is certainly true that we are the recipients of Their loving kindness and grace in these last days. They have opened up to our understanding this profound knowledge, which has long been hidden from the world. As promised in the book of Daniel—and as later reaffirmed by Jesus Christ—God has granted more understanding to His Church at this time than He previously granted to all the prophets, apostles, ministers and brethren of past ages. On the other hand, the Word of God is not bound, because God Himself has inspired all the knowledge contained in the Bible. As Jesus said, “It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63). Apart from the Word and Spirit of God, even the greatest minds throughout history have failed to understand God’s plan for mankind. It was simply not possible—for God’s truth is spiritually discerned and God Himself must choose to reveal His plan. As Paul wrote: “But according as it is written, ‘The eye has not seen, nor the ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things—even the deep things of God. For who among men understands the things of man except by the spirit of man which is in him? In the same way also, the things of God no one understands except by the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is of God, so that we might know the things graciously given to us by God; which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit in order to communicate spiritual things by spiritual means” (I Cor. 2:9-13).
Even with the understanding God has granted, we still do not comprehend as we ought to. Indeed, we are still “looking through a glass darkly.” There are many things, however, that God will no doubt yet reveal to His church and ministers as we come closer to the return of Jesus Christ. And while we may see many aspects of God’s plan more clearly than those of past church ages, we need to continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ—so that we may be counted worthy to receive eternal life and share in the glorious inheritance of Jesus Christ as spiritborn sons and daughters of God the Father, thus fulfilling God’s plan and purpose.
We will conclude with Paul’s inspired prayer of thanksgiving for the knowledge of God’s plan and purpose given to him through Jesus Christ for us: “For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles, if indeed you have heard of the ministry of the grace of God that was given to me for you; how He made known to me by revelation the mystery (even as I wrote briefly before, so that when you read this, you will be able to comprehend my understanding in the mystery of Christ), which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles might be joint heirs, and a joint body, and joint partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a servant according to the gift of the grace of God, which was given to me through the inner working of His power.
“To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, was this grace given, that I might preach the gospel among the Gentiles—even the unsearchable riches of Christ; and that I might enlighten all as to what is the fellowship of the mystery that has been hidden from the ages in God, Who created all things by Jesus Christ; so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places, according to His eternal purpose, which He has wrought in Christ Jesus our Lord, in Whom we have boldness and direct access with confidence through His very own faith.
“So then, I beseech you not to faint at my tribulations for you, which are working for your glory. For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of Whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; and that being rooted and grounded in love, you may be fully able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ, which surpasses human knowledge; so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
“Now to Him Who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all generations, even into the ages of eternity. Amen” (Eph. 3:1-21).
