To claim acknowledgment of God and replace the Law of God
with your own traditions and think that you're righteous, you're not!

I want to mention something about the judgment that came down concerning the immunity for Presidents, because some of the news—if you watch the mainstream media—they say that gives him a right to shoot, kill and destroy! It doesn't! The decision was 191 pages, and you have to read the whole thing.
The idiocy of Justice Sotomayor saying that he could order the assassination of people and be immune from prosecution is completely unmerited and has nothing to do with what the judgment gave. Here is what the court ruled.
This is from a report by Jim Rickards. He's an attorney. He also worked for the CIA. He has his own financial business, and I get his reports on a regular basis. He said:
Both the court's reasoning and its explicit opinion make it clear that their decision applies to the President, whether still in office or after leaving office. The case was unprecedented. No President has ever been prosecuted for acts committed while serving as President. So here's what the court ruled:
The President has absolute criminal immunity for core official acts. The President has presumptive criminal immunity for non-core official acts. The President has no criminal immunity from non-official acts.
Now then, he says there's no way that this case can be concluded before the election. So it looks like all of the cases of Lawfare, which we'll talk about in a little bit, against Trump will have any bearing. They will all fall by the wayside. So here's something for us to know.
A case for the ages.
- The first point is we've read the opinion of the court, and I'm a lawyer, so hopefully what you read here is more solidly based and useful than what you will hear elsewhere.
- The second point is that this is the case for the ages, of course, that involves Donald Trump as a criminal defendant and Joe Biden's Department of Justice as prosecutor.
It has huge political implications that will affect the coming presidential election on November 5th . Still, the court was writing with a 235-year perspective beginning with George Washington, so it is long, complicated, detailed, and correct judgment. And the decision of the court will still be relevant 235 years from now.
Trump is one of the most momentous decisions in the history of the court on a par with Marbury vs Madison 1803, establishing the right of courts to strike down laws on constitutional grounds, and also Brown vs Board of Education 1954 ending racial segregation in public schools. Trump vs the United States needs to be considered on a level that goes far beyond today in political battles. It delineates presidential powers for all times.
So, at least there is some hope for some things going on!
We don't know what's going to happen with the election. We don't know how it's going to go, so we need to keep a watch on that because it's important and it's going to affect everything that takes place here very shortly. We're right at the precipice of a lot of difficulties and crime and things beyond belief. I saw just this morning trying to check on the on the decision on the news and they showed right in Oakland a gang of about 20 came into this store and swept everything out of it and no one could touch them.
There needs to be law and order. Now with all of the idiot judges and unlawful judges and people who have legal brains like a walnut, they need to follow what the law says. The Bible says when the wicked are not brought to justice, they will only multiply in wickedness (Ecc. 8). That's a paraphrase of it, not an exact quote, and that's exactly what we are seeing today.
So, this election coming up is going to be a very important one. We will see what happens and it looks like that Trump may win, and if he wins he's got more problems and difficulties on his hands to try and straighten it out.
- What are you going to do with the 10-12 million immigrants here?
- What are you going to do with all the criminals and the insanity that's going on?
- What are you going to do concerning the inflation?
- What are you going to do concerning protecting people's rights?
All of those things are there and all around that and in the middle of it, God's perspective is this:
This Gospel in Matt. 24 has got to be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations and then the end shall come. So, we all have, and all the churches of God have, a tremendous responsibility to really preach the Word of God, to teach the Word of God. And like Eduardo said, for the brethren to stay close to God with the Holy Spirit within them to live their lives on a daily basis. {message: The Righteousness of The Perfect}
So, we are going to see what happens. This is what we're looking at right now. We've never had a time when it's like this. Now then, my message for today is Sin, Lawlessness, Lawfare, and Destruction, because it comes in that order. We'll see that Lawfare is heavily involved in religion and Christianity the way that the Protestants and the Catholics interpret it and do it.
Then if it's not right, what happens? Destruction! Just like Eduardo said and the Scriptures are true: It's not in man to direct his steps! Human beings were made to have:
- the Laws of God
- the Commandments of God
- the Spirit of God
- a connection with God so that they can live their lives the way that God wants
because
- God is Love
- God is Truth
and so forth
I also want to mention that on July 13th, next Sabbath, will be questions and answers.
Sin, Lawlessness, Lawfare, and Destruction
That's what happens. When you take the law and you make the law your own personal opinion, and use that against people you don't like, you're sitting in the seat of God and you're judging that person unfairly and unrighteously! You are committing sin tremendously. That's exactly what Joe Biden has been doing right now.
We don't know what's going to happen if he's going to step down and have another one come in to be a candidate. But you see, what happens to a whole nation when those in power give themselves over to their own destructive ways by using law against their opponent?
We're going to see that all the doctrines of Catholicism, most of the doctrines of Protestantism when compared to the Bible are Lawfare against God! We'll define what Lawfare is. So, this is what we're up against.
Now, we'll start off with coming to 1-John 3, because this talks about sin and lawlessness, because sin is lawlessness! There are many different ways that lawlessness can be applied. We all know this.
1-John 3:4: "Everyone…" That means anyone:
- converted/unconverted in the world
- knows God/doesn't know God
Verse 4: "Everyone who practices sin… [continually living and doing sin] …is also practicing lawlessness." That is the real definition of it!
The King James says 'sin is the transgression of the Law,' which is a true statement, but a precise translation is this: "…sin is lawlessness."
What we need to understand is that God is the One Who has given His Word. His Word is true, that's what Jesus said. Anyone who adds to it or takes away from it is committing lawlessness! Then when you insist on practicing it, you are living it!
When you codify it, you have Lawfare. In other words, this is the law of the Catholic Church. This is the law of this Protestant Church. You look at it, and it's lawless, because they have their own doctrines in there.
Let's look at some other things concerning what Jesus said about the Law. We'll see something else in the book of John, as well. Let's read what Jesus said.
We know that those who were practicing Judaism in those days—and still in today's day—have their own laws. Now, you've seen me hold up the book: Code of Jewish Law by Ganzfried & Goldin. Thousands of added laws that violates what God says. You don't add to, take away from. Something happens when people go against the Word of God. That's sin, but also lawlessness. Then when they take that lawlessness and establish it as their own rules, that is Lawfare, which is against God.
Now, in the Trump case, what they did, they took laws and tried to apply them in a way that was unlawful. That's Lawfare. All right here:
John 12:37: "Although He had done so many miracles in their presence, they did not believe in Him, so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled who said, 'Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?' For this very reason they could not believe because again Isaiah said, 'He has blinded their eye…" (vs 37-40).
So, something happens when people take upon themselves to think that they can:
- add to the Law of God
- change the Law of God
- misinterpret the Law of God
- apply it in the wrong way
Something happens! It's a blindness!
Verse 40: He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts…"
Think about what Jesus did. He went out into all the areas every Sabbath, synagogue after synagogue after synagogue, healing, preaching and teaching. But what happened? They didn't believe! Something happens in the mind; you become blind.
"…so that they would not see with their eyes and understand with their hearts… [because they're blinded] …and be converted, and I would heal them" (v 40).
Verse 41: "Isaiah said these things when he saw His glory and spoke concerning Him. But even so, many among the rulers believed in Him; but because of the Pharisees…" (vs 41-42)—who put their traditions ahead of the Word of God! You see that all the way through.
"…they did not confess Him, so that they wouldnot be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God. Then Jesus called out and said, 'The one who believes in Me does not believe in Me, but in Him Who sent Me. And the one who sees Me sees Him Who sent Me'" (vs 42-45).
Now, that's important because if there is any change to the Laws of God, Who can make them? God!
Men can't come along and say, 'It's more convenient for us to do it this way, so we'll do it this way.' Think of that concerning Sabbath and Sunday!
So, he says, v 46: "I have come as a Light into the world so that everyone who believes in Me may not remain in darkness."
That's the key thing to unlock the blindness, and unlock the stubbornness is to really believe! You have to believe not only that God exists, but His Word is true and every Word of God is inspired.
Verse 47: "But if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. The one who rejects Me and does not receive My words has One Who judges him; the Word, which I have spoken…" (vs 47-48). Think about that phrase right there:
- Who was Jesus before He came into flesh? The Lord God of the Old Testament!
- Who was the One Who spoke the Ten Commandments? The Lord God of the Old Testament Who became Jesus Christ!
So, when He says, "the Word, which I have spoken,.." that includes everything that goes clear back in what we call the Old Testament.
"…that shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken from Myself; but the Father, Who sent Me, gave Me commandment Himself…" (vs 48-49).
What do you think that Jesus did? Exactly what the Father told him!
"…what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life. Therefore, whatever I speak, I speak exactly as the Father has told Me" (vs 49-50).
John 10:29: "My Father, Who has given them to Me… [those who are called to eternal life] …is greater than all; and no one has the power to seize them from My Father's hand."
Now, think about that in relationship to our conversion. This is what is so important. It's so important to know that the Lord God of the Old Testament…
This is what is so important, and what I'm covering are the things that we need to know so that we don't get taken down by sin or by lawlessness or by Lawfare, which leads to destruction.
Verse 30: "'I and the Father are one.' Then the Jews again picked up stones so that they might stone Him. Jesus answered them, 'Many good works I have showed you from My Father. For which of them are you about to stone Me?' The Jews answered Him, saying, 'We will not stone You for a good work, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a man, are making Yourself God.' Jesus answered them, 'Is it not written in your law, "I said, 'You are gods'"?'" (vs 30-34).
Now, that's true. Back there, it is quoted. That's the whole purpose of becoming a son or daughter of God, that we will be like Him!
Verse 35: "If He called them gods, to whom the Word of God came… [notice this parenthetical statement] …(and the Scriptures cannot be broken)."
What were the Scriptures at that time? Everything in the Old Testament! Nothing in the New Testament had been written. "…the Scriptures cannot… [that means impossible] …be broken." You can transgress, but you can't get rid of it. That's what He's saying!
Now, let's see that verified back here in Deut. 12, because this shows us what God wants us to do, and these are the Scriptures that He is talking about.
Let's think about this, we've gone over this before quite a few times, but let's refresh our memory with it. Here's what God has said.
Deuteronomy 12:28: "Be careful to observe and obey all these words, which I command you, so that it may go well with you…"
The carnal mind, being hostile against God, 'is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can be!' The carnal mind is enmity. Now, enmity means enemy. When they read these things, they don't read that God wants it to go well with them in keeping the commandments.
"…and with your children after you forever when you do that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God" (v 28).
Who determines what's right and good in the sight of the Lord? God does! Not us! God!
Verse 29: "When the LORD your God shall cut off the nations before you, where you go to possess them, and you take their place and dwell in their land, take heed to yourself…" (vs 29-30).
That's a very important phrase right there. We are to watch:
- ourselves
- our thoughts
- our heart
- our attitudes
Verse 30: "Take heed to yourself that you do not become ensnared by following them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not ask about their gods, saying, 'How did these nations serve their gods that I may also do likewise?' You shall not do so to the LORD your God…" (vs 30-31).
One of the greatest Lawfares against the Church of God has been Sunday-keeping and Passover rejection for Easter. So much so that you can go on a Google search for Passover, and it will come up Easter.
Verse 31: "You shall not do so…"
Now, I did find a book just the other day that we have. I've had it for years, but I didn't know where it was. I was looking through the library, and I finally found it, and it's called The Celtic Church in Britain.
It was quite a vast church. Guess what they did? They kept the Sabbath! They kept the 14th Passover! They followed all the laws of clean and unclean meats. But the establishment religion of Catholicism has removed them from history—almost!
God says, "Take heed to yourself…" You don't follow them!
Verse 31: "You shall not do so to the LORD your God, for every abomination to the LORD, which He hates, they have done to their gods; even their sons and their daughters they have burned in the fire to their gods. Whatsoever thing that I command you…" (vs 31-32).
Remember what Jesus said? The words that I speak will judge you! Here's some of the words. New Testament, some other of the words.
Verse 32: "Whatsoever thing that I command you, be careful to do it. You shall not add to it, nor take away from it." The Scripture cannot be broken!
Now then, let's see what happens when there is lawlessness and Lawfare. That's exactly what we've been witnessing with all of these lawsuits and things going on.
But this is the ancient battle of Satan the devil. He likes to come along with something else to say that this replaces what God has said.
Isaiah 10:1: "Woe… [trouble, difficulties]…to those who decree unrighteous edicts…"
- How many synods has the Catholic Church had declaring Catholic law?
- How far have they gone from God?
- How much have they taken away from the Word of God and added to the Word of God?
Same way exactly with the Protestants!
"…and to those who issue oppressive decrees;: to turn aside the needy from judgment, and to steal the right from the poor of My people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the orphans! And what will you do in the Day of Judgment and destruction, in the day of devastation which shall come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth?" (vs 1-3).
That's exactly what we're seeing happen right now. Everything is so lawless! Let's see the prophecy of this; right now it's happening. Here's how it happens:
- unrighteous judgments take place
- unrighteous decrees are given
Matthew 24:10: "And then shall many be led into sin…"—that's what we have today!
- right is wrong/wrong is right
- evil is good/good is evil
That's lawlessness and Lawfare! You try and go to court, and you get a decree that is lawless. Look at what they do.
Verse 10: "And then shall many be led into sin, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another."
Sound like the nightly news that we watch today? Yes, indeed! "…be led into sin…"
Verse 11: "And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many; and because lawlessness…" (vs 11-12).
The King James says iniquity, but it is 'anomia,' which means against law—lawlessness!
First you have sin, then you have living in sin, which is lawlessness. Then you codify the sin, which is Lawfare, and that leads to destruction. That's what we're seeing happen to America today!
"…because lawlessness shall be multiplied…" (v 12).
How much is it going to be? We don't know! So, with the current situation that we have in America today, and with these good judgments that came down from the Supreme Court, the question remains:
- What are the people going to do?
- What will the President do?
- What will the Congress do?
- What will they do to stop all the lawlessness that's going on?
Because it reaches a point, it reaches a critical mass, that if you don't stop the sin, if you don't stop the lawlessness, and it's codified. How do you get rid of it? It destroys itself!
Verse 12: "And because lawlessness shall be multiplied, the love of many shall grow cold." That lawlessness goes against God's righteousness!
Jer. 22—Let's see what it says concerning having a society built on evil. Think of this in relationship to what's happening to Joe Biden, his family, and the Democrats right now at this point, because they're confronted with something that's very difficult.
They want to get rid of Biden, but he doesn't want to go. If they get rid of him:
- Who are they going to put on the ticket?
- How are they going to get that person to be put on the voting roll in the various states when they are already in the process of printing the ballots for the November election?
This is coming upon them right now!
Jeremiah 22:13: "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness…"
Look at all the unrighteousness that's being practiced, especially in the Democrat Party.
"…and his upper rooms without justice; who uses his neighbor's service without pay, and he gives him naught for his work; Who says, 'I will build myself a great house and spacious rooms'—and cuts out windows for himself, and puts in a cedar ceiling, and paints it with vermilion. Shall you reign because you surround yourself with cedar?…." (vs 13-15).
In other words, because you have all these expensive things around you, are you going to reign and rule?
"'…Did not your father eat and drink, and do judgment and righteousness? Then it was well with him. He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him. Was this not the way to know Me?' says the LORD. 'But your eyes and your heart are for nothing but for your own covetousness…'" (vs 15-17).
That's the whole focus of the Democrat Party at this present time. But God has caused so much confusion among them, they don't know what to do. Biden is saying, 'I'm not going anywhere. I don't believe the polls. I'm going to win.' He's got all the delegates that are already committed to him. So, what are they going to do?
God has set the trap for them! Let's hope the trap closes. If the Republicans get in:
- What are they going to do? We'll have to wait and see!
- Will they do right?
Verse 17: "But your eyes and your heart are for nothing but for your own covetousness and to shed innocent blood, and for cruelty, and to do violence."
Therefore, God says He's going to judge them and take care of them.
We've covered transgression of the Law; that's one way of lawlessness, rejection of the Law! That's exactly what the children of Israel did, they rejected the Law of God. How bad did it get?
Isa. 5—we've been here before, but let's go here again because this tells us a lot. What they have done—and this is why we have so much trouble here and so much trouble in the world—because they have done this, and it's quite a thing indeed! Here is where lawlessness leads:
Isaiah 5:18: "Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin with cart ropes; who say, 'Let Him hurry and hasten His work, so that we may see it; and let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, so that we may know!'" (vs 18-19)—You may not like what's coming!
We don't know what's going to happen; things might be a little better for a little while. But:
- What's going to happen with the problem of abortion?
- What's going to happen with all of the immigrants that are here?
- What's going to happen with all the terrorists that are here?
- What's going to happen with all the criminals that are let loose?
- What's going to happen with all the homeless?
- How are you going to solve the homeless problem?
We have gigantic problems, and we're sitting on the verge of many disastrous things to happen because of what we're reading right here in Isa. 5.
- What's going to happen if there's a 'Great Depression'?
- What's going to happen if the dollar collapses?
All of these things are sitting like right on the edge of the precipice ready to fall over.
Verse 20: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil…"
- What are you going to do with all the alphabet sexual perversion?
- How are you going to stop that?
- How are you going to change that?
All of this goes back to where there were all of these Supreme Court rulings leading up to this point that has caused the problem. Yes, there are a couple of states wanting to have the Ten Commandments posted in schools, and to teach the Bible in school. The Tennessee governor had called for the month of July for prayer and fasting because of the things that are taking place. Well, that's a nice step forward, but what's going to happen? We don't know!
"…who put darkness for light and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!" (vs 20-21).
Look at how that ties in with Eduardo's message—The Righteousness of The Perfect—'the way of man is not in him to direct his steps.' That's why everything is going wrong.
Verse 22: "Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink… [add in their drugs] …who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!" (vs 22-23).
What's going to happen? Sooner or later this next verse is going to come!
- Will be a change with all of these Protestant ministers?
- Will they repent and teach the Truth of God?
- Will they acknowledge the sin of Sunday-keeping and holiday-keeping, which makes them another brand of Catholics?
They're the ones who said the Law has been done away. Can't do it! The Law operates like the law of gravity, and Jesus said: 'My words are always going to be true. They will always be there.'
Verse 24: "Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble…"
Have you ever seen stubble? We'll have some fires here this year in California, because of the rain we've had for a couple of years! There's a lot of dry stuff out there. What happens with stubble? POOF! It just evaporated right away!
"…and the flame burns up the chaff; their root shall be like rottenness, and their blossoms shall go up like dust because they have cast away the Law of the LORD of hosts…" (v 24). That's what they have done!
Stop and think for just a minute. Just take the thing of Sabbath alone. Look at all the things that take place from Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown:
- all the sports
- all of the buying
- all of the selling
- all of the work
- all of the things that people do
Some may go to church on Sunday, but even Sunday has become virtually nothing!
As God looks down here what is He looking at? Well He's interested in all the saints! He's interested in all the people in the Churches of God! And there are some troubles in those churches, which we're going to cover at the ministerial conference on the 14th of July. The people of God need to be:
- fed the Word of God
- taught the way of God
"…they have cast away the Law of the LORD of hosts and despised the Word of the Holy One of Israel. Therefore, the anger of the LORD is kindled against His people, and He has stretched out His hand against them, and has stricken them; and the hills trembled, and their dead bodies were as filth in the midst of the streets. In all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still" (vs 24-25). That's what it is; that's what happens:
- lawlessness—transgression of the Law
- rejection of the law creates lawlessness
- modification of the Law
Let's see a prophecy of that! That's this the whole world system that we have today; changing the law!
Daniel 7:25: "And he shall speak words against the Most High…"
We apply that to the coming Beast Power, which is true. But:
- How many speak words against the Most High?
- How many messages come across in Protestantville and Catholicism that are against the Most High?
"…and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change the set times and the laws…." (v 25).
- Has that been accomplished?
- What are the set times? Sabbath, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles, Last Great Day!
All of those are the skeleton, or outline, which tell us what God is doing. But they get rid of it. They don't want it. You replace the Law of God with tradition. We know that.
Let's go to Mark 7; we've been there many times. But this is what they do.
- Are there Catholic traditions?
- Are there Protestant traditions?
- Are there Jewish traditions?
Which reject the Law! Replace the Law of God! Then is accomplished by Lawfare. Lawfare introduces new laws to change the Law of God! The Lawfare is against God and against His way.
Mark 7 talks about their traditions. Here's what happens, Because people do this all the time. Like when they run the surveys and ask, 'Do you believe in God?' Oh yes, I believe in God! They never ask, 'Do you keep His commandments? No! Saying or acknowledging there is a God doesn't get you anyplace!
Mark 7:6: "And He answered and said to them, 'Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, "This people honors Me with their lips, but their hearts are far away from Me."'"
- How are we to love God?
- What is the commandment?
We're to love God with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our soul, with all our being! That's what connects us with God!
But to acknowledge God, and have your own traditions and think that you're righteous, you're not!
That amplifies the lawlessness and that is replacing the Law of God with your traditions! Here it is:
Verse 7: "But in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men."
- Can a man be more important than God?
- Can a man make a decree and God must accept it if it's contrary to the Word of God?
Isa. 40 tells us what God says, and answers the question:
- Can any man tell God what to do?God says this:
- IF you want to understand about God
- IF you want to understand the Truth of God so you don't end up doing all of these things that we're covering here
- IF you don't want to sit in the seat of God and tell God these traditions are so good we got to keep them
I don't know how many of you have read even parts of the book Code of Jewish Law. If you don't have
our book Judaism: Revelation of Moses or Religion of Men, you get it. We have a lot of the laws there. It's amazing! Some of the silliest things, stupidest things, yet they think they're righteous.
You can go on to Church at Home and we have a series there on Judaism—Judaism Rejects the Laws of God (6 segments churchathome.org)
Have you ever seen what the Jews do to wash their hands? You have to get a basin, you have to have the water, you have to have it in a pitcher and you have to pour it over your hands three times. And then you have to raise them up and let the dribbles of the water come down. and then you dry your hands. Now you may eat.
Besides, look at the blasphemy that the Catholics have of calling the pope 'holy father.' I mean, think on that! And priests that are celibate to be called 'father.' That's a moryoxon, isn't it? So, you think you're important?
Isaiah 40:12: "Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out the heavens with a span? And who has comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, and who was His counselor…" (vs 12-13).
Anyone who tells God what to do, you're saying:
I'm your counselor, Lord, and you have to follow what I say, because what I have is more important than what You have.
"…that he might instruct Him? With whom did He take counsel…" (vs 13-14).
Has God ever asked the pope, 'What do you think, pope? What do you think I ought to do?' NO! Remember in the temptation with Jesus and Satan, Jesus came to be tempted. Satan came with a benefit; he said, 'look at those rocks. If you're the Son of God, make them bread.' Jesus could have done it! Is not Satan more important than any man? Of course! So, what did Jesus say? You know the answer:
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God!
So, no man's going to tell God what to do!
Verse 14: "With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him and taught Him in the path of judgment, and taught Him knowledge, and made known the way of understanding to Him?" Everybody needs to get a perspective of:
- the greatness of God
- everything that he does
Verse 15: "Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the scales; behold, He takes up the isles as a very little thing."
Verse 17: "All nations before Him are as nothing; and they are counted by Him as less than nothing, and vanity. To whom then will you compare God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?" (vs 17-18).
Lawlessness and Lawfare declare that man and his rules are greater than God!
Now then, the next way that lawlessness comes about is by false interpretations of the Scriptures!
2 Cor. 2 tells us about it: false interpretations! Paul had to fight this. Paul had to work against it:
2-Corinthians 2:17: "For we are not like the many..."
Now think about it even in Paul's day. There were many out there, and that's the whole subject of what comes out in 2-Cor. Read the 2-Cor. 11 about what he says to the false apostles.
2-Corinthians 2:17: "For we are not like the many, who for their own profit are corrupting the Word of God; but we speak with sincerity, as from God, and before God, and in Christ." So they deceitfully interpret the word of God!
2 Thess. 2—let's see some more about the lawlessness and the lawlessness that is coming: the son of perdition! Look at what happens when it comes to the full. We're going to see the man of sin, the son of perdition.
2-Thessalonians 2:3: "…and the man of sin shall be revealed—the son of perdition, the one who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God… [that is the ultimate of lawlessness right there] …or that is an object of worship; so that he comes into the Temple of God and sits down as God, proclaiming that he himself is God" (vs 3-4).
The popes have done that. Different ones have done that.
Verse 5: "Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things? And now you understand what is holding him back in order for him to be revealed in his own set time. For the mystery of lawlessness…" (vs 5-7).
People don't understand what lawlessness gets them into until they are in the grips of things like we are today:
- sin
- lawlessness
- lawfare
- destruction
Verse 8: "And then the lawless one will be revealed (whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth, and will destroy with the brightness of His coming); even the one whose coming is according to the inner working of Satan…" (vs 8-9).
See? That's what it's going to come to. Satan himself possessing the one who becomes the beast!
"…with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those who are perishing because..." (vs 9-10).
You see, here is our choice. Here's what we need to do, right here. This is what not to do:
"…because they did not receive the love of the Truth, so that they might be saved" (v 10). That's what we need to have:
- the love of the Truth
- the love of the Word of God
- the love of God
- everything having to do with God's way
- that's how we overcome
- that's how we're able to survive in this world
Because those who follow all this deceivableness, they:
"…are perishing because they did not receive the love of the Truth, so that they might be saved. And for this cause God will send upon them a powerful deception that will cause them to believe the lie, so that all may be judged who did not believe the Truth, but who took pleasure in unrighteousness" (vs 10-12).
Now then, God doesn't want us to be that way! So, when we're surrounded with all of this, we just need to realize that:
- God's Word is true
- it cannot be broken
- we're not to add to it
- we're not to take away from it
- we're not to get involved in all the lawlessness that's going on in this world
We need to do all we can
- to stay close to God
- to love God
- to love each other
- to take care of the things that God wants us to do
That's what we're confronted with today. When there is massive sin and lawlessness and then Lawfare to make it the law whatever they want it to be—whether it be civil or religious—then this leads to destruction!
That's why the whole world is going to end up being in a state of destruction when Christ returns, and all of these things take place on the earth.
