Dear Brethren,
As we mail this letter, we are only ten days from the Feast of Trumpets, which begins the fall holy days and feasts of God. Our new book, Occult Holidays or God’s Holy Days—Which?, gives an overview of the meaning and timing of these special, commanded convocations. We hope that you have been able to read most (if not all) of this book in preparation for the coming feasts days.
It is always amazing that these holy days—which mainstream, “pagan” Christianity vehemently despises and rejects—are the very days that would give them understanding of God’s plan and purpose for mankind. As a result of this rejection, nominal Christians simply don’t know what God is really doing, and neither do they understand the overview of biblical prophecy revealed through God’s weekly Sabbath, annual holy days and feasts.
The truth is, without the true God and the scriptural understanding of His Word, mankind’s quest for life only ends in disaster, desolation and death. As the true proverb says: “There is a way that seems right to man, but the end thereof is death” (Pro. 14:12; 16:25). Indeed, as Solomon wrote: “All is vanity.”
On the other hand, what a blessing and privilege it is that God gives us an understanding of His awesome master plan. Through the power of His Holy Spirit and the Holy Scriptures, God the Father and Jesus Christ are continually revealing details of their plan to true Christians who love God with all their hearts. This secret knowledge of God’s plan does not come as a result of our own works or mental abilities. Rather, it is made available through God’s grace, through His Holy Spirit and His Word—as well as because of His mercy and love which He shows to those He has called.
Regardless of how much scientific knowledge and human wisdom mankind may possess, the world is ignorant of the things of God—and indeed cannot know them. Men may desire and strive to know God, and spend untold hours in study and research. But they are unable to receive the knowledge of God because they have rejected Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. God simply will not reveal it to them. The apostle Paul wrote to the brethren in Corinth, emphasizing this very concept: Understanding God’s plan of salvation for mankind and the purpose for His Church does not come by human wisdom or intellect. God must reveal His plan by His Spirit and through His Word: “[M]y message and my preaching was not in persuasive words of human wisdom; rather, it was in demonstration of the Spirit and of power; so that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Now we speak wisdom among the spiritually mature; however, it is not the wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing.
“Rather, we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom that God foreordained before the ages unto our glory which not one of the rulers of this world has known (for if they had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory); but according as it is written, ‘The eye has not seen, nor the ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’
“But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things—even the deep things of God. For who among men understands the things of man except by the spirit of man which is in him? In the same way also, the things of God no one understands except by the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is of God, so that we might know the things graciously given to us by God; which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit in order to communicate spiritual things by spiritual means. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned” (I Cor. 2:4-14).
Brethren, we need to realize that even God’s prophets of old were not given the understanding of His plan that has now been revealed to His saints. Peter confirmed this when he wrote: “Concerning which salvation the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you have diligently searched out and intently inquired, searching into what way and what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them was indicating, testifying beforehand of the sufferings of Christ, and these glories that would follow; to whom it was revealed that, not for themselves, but to us they were ministering these things, which now have been announced to you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit, sent from heaven—into which things the angels desire to look” (I Pet. 1:10-12).
Paul wrote extensively that God revealed to him and the other apostles of the glorious plan of God and His purpose for us—and hence for all mankind: “For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles, if indeed you have heard of the ministry of the grace of God that was given to me for you; how He made known to me by revelation the mystery (even as I wrote briefly before, so that when you read this, you will be able to comprehend my understanding in the mystery of Christ), which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles might be joint heirs, and a joint body, and joint partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel” (Eph. 3:1-6).
We are to be heirs of God and joints heirs with Jesus Christ. If we are faithful, God will grant us eternal life at the first resurrection. God has made His plan known to us and has taken His saints into His confidence by revealing His purpose to us: “Having predestinated us for sonship to Himself through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He has made us objects of His grace in the Beloved Son; in Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the remission of sins, according to the riches of His grace, which He has made to abound toward us in all wisdom and intelligence; having made known to us the mystery of His own will, according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself; that in the divine plan for the fulfilling of the times, He might bring all things together in Christ, both the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth; yes, in Him, in Whom we also have obtained an inheritance, having been predestinated according to His purpose, Who is working out all things according to the counsel of His own will” (Eph. 1:5-11).
The biblical truth is that not only will God grant us eternal life when Jesus returns, but we will rule the world under Jesus Christ in the kingdom of God! Daniel prophesied that the soon-coming world government will be taken from the beast and given to the saints of God: “And he [the beast of Revelation 13 and II Thessalonians 2] shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him” (Dan 7:25-27).
Jesus Christ will return as the King of the world and the government will be upon His shoulders (Isa. 9:6-7). And He shall rule the world with the saints ruling under Him (Zech. 14:4-9). We shall reign as kings and priests with Christ for a thousand years (Rev. 20:4-6).
The prophetic framework of the Sabbath, holy days and feasts of God gives us the knowledge of God’s plan and purpose. However, the key to understanding comes from God as we keep and observe these days. As we enter the fall holy day season, we need to keep this in the forefront of our minds. As we do, God the Father and Jesus Christ will—through their love and grace—continue to grant us more knowledge and understanding of their plan and purpose, as well as our calling.
Letters from Brethren
Dear Fred and Staff,
Thank you for sending the extra tapes I requested. They are very informative and eye opening. The book, Occult Holidays or God’s Holy Days—Which?, is so thorough. All of your works should be required reading for ministers in all churches of God. But, I think that they are too proud to do it. Thanks for all your hard work.- From Arizona
Dear Fred,
Thank you for the book, Occult Holidays or God’s Holy Days—Which? It is outstanding, one of those books that you just can’t put down—terrific. It has so much in it. Thanks again.
I was talking to a friend of mine, who is blind. When I told her about the book she suggested that it would be great if you could have someone record it on tape for those who can’t see or read because of some impairment. Would that be possible? There must be other brethren in the same situation and they may feel left out because of not being able to read. Well anyway, I just thought I’d ask. - From Tennessee
Thank you—that is a good idea. We have considered doing this, but have not yet been able to find a way to accomplish it. Perhaps in the future we will be able to do so.
Mr. Coulter,
Thank you for all the material you’ve sent. What a Blessing! I would like to request your Introductory Care Package with the 30 tapes and literature. My brother wrote to me about the one he received, so I’d like to request it as well, because he lives in Florida and I live in New York. We like to go over the same material so we can share our studies together. Thank you. - From New York
Dear Fred,
Please find enclosed my offerings for Trumpets and Atonement. I am so thankful to God and you that we are able to receive these sermons by tape. It is a tremendous blessing for the scattered brethren. My prayers are with you all daily for God’s protection and inspiration through His Holy Spirit. I pray that God grants you, and all those who work with you, much strength to help you with all the projects that you all are doing. We know that all the glory goes to God.
The sermons are so encouraging and informative and I do like the Bible studies you encourage us to do. It does draw us closer to our Great Father. Love and prayers and thanks to God for all of your work. - From Colorado
Greetings Fred,
Shabbat Shalom. I just finished reading your August 16th letter. I was moved to tears as I read your goal of producing the entire Bible in its Original Order in accurate Modern English.
I normally divide God’s tithe towards Sabbatarian/CoG ministries which I have confidence in. But after reading your letter, I have decided to send a substantial portion of that for at least one year to help towards the production of this exciting new version of God’s Word. You are stepping out on faith and GOD’S PEOPLE WILL RESPOND! No question about it.
The various translations I have contain varying degrees of paper quality. Some of these Bibles have very poor quality paper and they are falling apart. I have one NASB that has superb paper quality. I personally would be willing to pay extra for a Bible with very high quality paper. I have been a draftsman and CAD technician for over twenty years and I know some thing about paper.
I will be praying about this project and all of those involved. - From Kansas
Dear Fred,
This month marks something special. It was September 4, 1956 that I was baptized in the fountain in the Lower Gardens at Ambassador College by Dr. Hoeh. That was 50 years ago. So I guess this will be my golden jubilee year. In three months I will be 80 years old.
It was love for God that kept us in WCG until 1995. It sure taught us endurance. In 1996 a friend gave us one of your tapes and you have been our friend ever since. Wish we had known you before then. But we study with your tapes and thank God for the knowledge He has given us. - From Oregon
My Schedule for the Feast of Tabernacles
This year I will be traveling to Goshen, Indiana, to begin the Feast. I will be there for opening night, October 6, and for double services on the first holy day, October 7. We are planning a meal between services.
Then I will go to Waco, Texas, and be there October 8, 9 and 10—which will bring us to the middle of the feast.
Finally, I will go back to California and finish the last half of the feast in Hollister. We decided to have the feast in Hollister after we had such a successful one last year at Monterey.
The sermons for the feast have been well prepared and should be most inspiring and helpful. On days 2 and 3, we will cover what Jesus Christ Himself taught during the Feast of Tabernacles as found in John 7, 8 and 9. Then, on days 4, 5 and 6, we will do a detailed study on “Judging Righteous Judgment.” We have revised the booklet Judge Righteous Judgment, that was originally published in 1996. You will receive your booklet at the feast site (or if you are unable to attend any of the sites, we will include two copies of the booklet with your audio or videotapes).
Old Testament Project: We are making excellent progress on revising the MKJV for our soon-coming Faithful Version of the Old Testament—and the entire Bible in its original order. I am trying to finish my part of the revisions as quickly as possible. By the time you receive this letter, I will have finished all the Prophets. Then I will begin revising the Writings, beginning with the book of Psalms. After my part has been completed there will be much editing and proof reading to do, as well as the composition of each page with center column references and footnotes.
Children’s Coloring Book for the Feast of Tabernacles: As we have for the past few years, Don and bonnie Borrows have created a coloring book for children. The title and theme of it is: In the Beginning God Created the Heavens and the Earth and There Shall be a New Heaven and a New Earth. It is has 52 pages, with specific pages for each day.
As you go to the Feast of Tabernacles, we are praying for all of you that God will bless you and protect you in your travels and that you will have an inspiring and uplifting feast. Thank you for all your efforts to help the brethren and other people who are interested in God’s truth. Thank you for your continued support through your tithes and offerings—we make every penny count. Thank you for all your love and prayers. May God continue to bless you with His grace, love and blessings in everything.
With love in Christ Jesus,
Fred R. Coulter
