Dear Brethren,
It seems like America is under siege! We have everything from invasions of illegal immigrants to unprecedented crime and violence; drug abuse is rampant, sexual promiscuity is widespread, and diseases of all kinds are making a comeback—even our government has become lawless. Yet no one knows why we are facing these problems—let alone the solutions. People do not understand the causes because they do not know the Word of God.
Even modern “Christianity”—while realizing that sin is the root cause of suffering—is ignorant of why our nation is facing such crises. The answer has to do with who we really are as a nation—our biblical identity. Protestant teachers claim the Old Testament has been fulfilled. Thus they do not realize that the so-called “Lost Tribes of Israel” did not historically vanish, but have developed into key nations: the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, as well as a few nations of northwestern Europe. And these Israelite nations are beginning to reap the whirlwind of divine judgment! This has all happened according to specific prophetic promises made by God in Genesis 49 and Deuteronomy 33. Indeed, numerous prophecies—in Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea, etc.—foretold of these exact conditions!
Let’s examine some of these prophecies. God began with promises of blessings IF the children of Israel would love and obey Him: “Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge and His statutes and His judgments and His commandments always…. Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: A blessing, IF you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day; and a curse, IF you will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but will turn aside out of the way which I command you this day to go after other gods which you have not known” (Deut. 11:1, 26-28).
In Deuteronomy 28, God greatly expands on these blessings and curses. There are 14 verses covering the promises of His blessings. This is what everyone wants. But God makes it clear that such blessings are contingent on specific conditions: “And it shall come to pass, IF you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord your God to observe and to do all His commandments which I command you today, the Lord your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you IF you will obey the voice of the Lord your God.
“Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your livestock, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep. Blessed shall be your basket and your store. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
“The Lord shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be stricken before your face. They shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouses, and all that you set your hand to. And He shall bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you. The Lord shall establish you a holy people to Himself, as He has sworn to you, IF you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. And all the people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
“And the Lord shall make you abound in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord shall open to you His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. And you shall loan to many nations, and you shall not borrow. And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail. And you shall be always above, and you shall not be beneath, IF you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today, to observe and to do them. And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right hand or the left, to go after other gods to serve them” (Deut. 28:1-14).
These blessings are exactly what people want today. They even expect many of them to be provided by their governments. But they miss the entire point! Because they have rejected God—in their lives, in their schools, in their governments, and even in their churches—He cannot and will not grant such blessings! God will only provide these blessings on the condition that people love and obey Him. Sadly, people want to continue in their sins and still receive God’s blessings.
But that can never be! Because sin—the transgression of God’s laws—automatically brings curses. And God will not be mocked—by any person, any group, or any nation.
We need to understand that God is in charge and He has given the conditions to receive His blessings. They are found in numerous “IF clauses” scattered throughout the Bible.
To begin with, God rules in all nations—whether they know Him or not. In the book of Daniel, God personally dealt with Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon—a great Gentile nation that God used to destroy Jerusalem and the Temple in 539 BC. When the king lifted up his pride and vanity against God—by declaring that he had built Babylon—God struck him down. God then denied Nebuchadnezzar his kingdom for seven years as punishment for not giving Him the glory for raising him up as king and granting all the accomplishments of Babylon.
God warned Nebuchadnezzar in a dream, and Daniel interpreted it for him: “It [the tree of the dream] is you, O king, for you have become great and strong, for your greatness has grown and reached unto heaven, and your dominion to the end of the earth. And as the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, ‘Cut the tree down and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots of it in the earth, even with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the animals of the field until seven times pass over him.’
“This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: That you shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and you shall be made to eat grass like oxen. And you shall be wet with the dew of heaven, and seven times [years] shall pass over you until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He will. And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots, your kingdom shall be sure to you after you shall have known that the heavens do rule.
“Therefore, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, so there may be lengthening of your prosperity” (Dan. 4:22-27). God always offers repentance, and He always honors such repentance, just as we see in the book of Jonah.
However, Nebuchadnezzar did not repent. He did not heed God’s warning. So God carried out the consequences of his unrepentant attitude: “All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar. At the end of twelve months he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of the kingdom of Babylon. The king spoke and said, ‘Is this not great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?’ While the word was yet in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven, saying, ‘O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken. The kingdom has departed from you. And you shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be made to eat grass like oxen, and seven times shall pass over you until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He wills.’
“The same hour the thing was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven from men, and ate grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the heavens until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws. ‘And at the end of the days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored Him Who lives forever, for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom is from generation to generation. And all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing; and He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. And none can stay His hand, or say to Him, “What are You doing?”
“ ‘At that time my reason returned to me. And the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and splendor returned to me. And my advisers and my lords sought me out, and I was established in my kingdom, and surpassing greatness was added to me. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are truth and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to abase’ ” (Dan. 4:28-37).
God is Actively Judging all Nations at all Times: In the book of Jeremiah, God makes it clear how He deals with any nation at any time. This is always true—whether that nation has knowledge of God’s Law or not: “The Word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, ‘Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.’ Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he was working at his wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was ruined in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
“Then the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘O house of Israel, can I not do with you even as this potter?’ says the Lord. ‘Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hands, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel. IF at any time I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck it up and to pull it down, and to destroy it; IF that nation, against whom I have spoken, will turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them’ ” (Jer. 18:1-8).
We also have the example of Jonah the prophet and God’s warning to the great city of Nineveh: “And the Word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, ‘Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out to it the proclamation that I am declaring to you.’ And Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the Word of the Lord. And Nineveh was a very great city of three days’ journey across. And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried and said, ‘Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!’
“And the people of Nineveh believed God. And they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne. And he laid aside his robe from him, and covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
“And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his great ones, saying, ‘Do not let man or beast, herd or flock taste anything; do not let them feed, nor drink water. But let man and animal be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God. And let them each one turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
“ ‘Who knows? God may repent, and He may have pity and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we do not perish.’ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. And God repented of the evil that He had said He would do to them, and He did not do it” (Jonah 3:1-10).
So we see how God deals with nations: IF they believe His warning message and repent of their evil, He will hold back His hand of correction.
But the opposite is also true. Look again at Jeremiah 18: “And if at any time I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build it and to plant it; IF it does evil in My sight, that it not obey My voice, then I will repent of the good with which I said I would do them good.
“Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah, and to the people of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Behold, I am forming evil against you, and devising a plan against you. Return now, each one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good” ’ ” (verses 9-11).
From the beginning of the world, this is how God judges all nations. He causes empires and nations to rise and fall. He uses His angels, Satan and his demons, as well as other nations and their armies as instruments of His correction. When we examine history from the biblical perspective, it is evident that God is constantly active in the affairs of all nations of the world.
This is why America is under the heavy hand of God’s judgment—our horrible sins and lawlessness. Today, the number one horrific sin is ABORTION—THE KILLING OF 55 MILLION INNOCENT UNBORN BABIES! As God views it, the whole nation is guilty of shedding the most innocent blood—God’s newly created human beings in their mothers’ wombs! This is why we have an immigration problem! It should be apparent that for every unborn child killed, God sends immigrants—legal and illegal—as punishment on this nation!
This is what God means in His pronouncement of this curse in Deuteronomy 28: “The stranger dwelling among you shall get up above you very high, and you shall come down very low. He shall loan to you, and you shall not loan to him. He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. And all these curses shall come on you, and shall pursue you and overtake you, until you are destroyed because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. And they [the blessings and curses] shall be on you for a sign and for a wonder, and on your seed [the twelve tribes/nations of Israel] forever. Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart for the abundance of all things” (Deut. 28:43-47).
Too many Americans are like the Israelites of old—they refuse to repent! Jeremiah writes of Israel’s reaction to God’s prophecy against them: “And they said, ‘There is no hope; but we will walk after our own ways, and we will each one do according to the stubbornness of his evil heart’ ” (Jer. 18:12). It is the same today with modern Israel. Unless the people of the United States repent of abortion, God’s heavy hand of correction will continue!
Though the state of the nation is most precarious, we all need to take hope in the reality that God has called us to be in His kingdom and has given us His Holy Spirit—the earnest of eternal life. When Christ returns, we will be given the task of serving under Him to establish God’s way of life over the entire world!
We thank you for your love and faith in serving God. We pray for you daily. We thank you for your tithes and offerings, which are used to serve the brethren and to preach the Gospel—THE TRUTH OF GOD—to the world.

It is the first completely accurate book on this subject that I have found. I was impressed and grateful. Mr. Neal did not go outside of Scripture to reference his points, other than to quote others that were based on Scripture. This is a work of art, inspired by God. The problem is that, in my excitement over this book, I showed it to a friend who begged me to give it to him, and of course I did. May I please get another? Hi Fred: Over the past two years, I have had a major recovery from the psychological malaise associated with recovering from the side effects of the long-term use of a certain class of medications. It was a painful 4 or 5 years. My mind has come back to me in such a refreshing way, for which I am so thankful to God. It is like being reborn, in a way.
I love studying the Bible again. It provides me with so much pleasure that it is difficult to put into words. It never feels like an obligation that can cause me guilt for my lack of engagement with it. I love the Word of God, and I find that oftentimes I cannot even put it down. There is so much to learn, and from so many different perspectives. It is endless.
I think I have perhaps taken for granted or undervalued the resources provided in the appendixes and commentaries of the Faithful Version, as well as the other books we have. Now, when I am reading the gospels I always have the Harmony by my side; when considering Passover, I have The Christian Passover sitting open as well; etc. These are all most excellent resources for us to learn from … [and] likely contain the most accurate information available.
We are so blessed by all of this—with this opportunity to be personally taught by God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for all of the research and hard work you and the rest of the team have done, cooperating together with God and the Holy Spirit to perform this wonderful service.—JM

Dear Brother Fred: I want to update you on my request for an anointing cloth back in July. I had at the time an unknown fever. I called and asked for prayer and anointing. I received one of the kindest, most compassionate anointing letters ever in my 40 years with the WCG. I followed the instructions with heartfelt prayer. I began to feel encouraged and hopeful. The doctors could not find any cause. All tests were negative! I was healthy, but the fever continued for five weeks. But as mysteriously as it began, it ended! Praise be to God! Hello Fred: I want to express how well done the “Most High” series is. You present a very skillful argument. I have not read the PCG’s paper on this, and do not intend to. Reading your detailed and extensive rebuttal pretty much makes it clear what arguments they tried to use. I like the part you brought out about Acts 7 and the Shekinah. I had never thought about that before, that it was Christ’s special personal presence.
I am bewildered at the reasons fellow believers have for developing such doctrines. Do they come up with them by themselves? Did they read them somewhere? Do they not realize that such beliefs come into the church in cycles?
Your addressing these heresies that come up is a real service to all the brethren and those whom God is working with. I would hope that most of us associated with this fellowship would be firm enough in the faith to not depart after such foolishness.
I have been associated with the CBCG for 17 years. I really appreciate you. I have never heard you say or suggest anything that has gotten my ears to “prick up.” Occasionally there are things that I may have a different perspective on, but I experience that with everyone. I am very thankful to God that He introduced me to you. Having you as a teacher, plus my natural maturation, has given me much to be thankful for.—JM
Good morning Fred: I would like to thank you and all who have been involved with the making of the audio version of the Bible. After 5.5 years of reading and listening to your (and others’) sermons, it is so good for me to sit down in a quiet room and listen to the book of John, for example. Here a bit, there a bit, things are becoming clearer now; things are falling into place, so now I’m really starting to get the picture and the flow of things in my mind.

Fred: In your message “The Lord God and the Most High in the OT #4,” you supposed (after ringing the bell, which makes me smile every time) that the first resurrection could be near the end of a Jubilee year. Later in the message you spoke of Psalm 50, verse 5, speaking of the first resurrection—and that “five” represents grace, and that the first resurrection takes place on Pentecost, the 50th day. It struck me that verse 5 occurring in Psalm 50 could also correlate to your idea that the first resurrection could be near the end of a Jubilee year, the 50th year.
Your preaching and in-depth teaching style really resonates with me. I get so much from the verse-by-verse studies. I thank you and praise God the Father for your many years of service to the brethren.—GR

Dear Fred: Thank you for all the work that has been done over the years—by yourself and your fellow workers. We are reaping the benefits and are most grateful.
There is a small group of five here in Wagga, Australia, that has been listening to your sermons for months now. Your studies of the epistles has helped us greatly, as no one over the past 30 years in the church has revealed as much from them. Only God knows why He has given us this opportunity at this time, and we can only run with what we so fortunately have.
The transcripts are really helpful. We especially appreciated the Feast. It has been so refreshing to have clear daily teachings on God’s plan. So different from other Feasts.
I was wondering if there was any way to get the Faithful Version on MP3. I do a lot of listening to our books this way and find it very helpful. With the Bible, I like the repetition; it helps the old brain to remember. I guess I’m inspired by what our forefathers did and would like to make an extra effort in that regard. I can get the King James, but would prefer not to. Do we have some way to do this? I’m not terribly technical, so it would have to be relatively simple. I would appreciate it if anyone can help me with this.

Good morning Steve: What a wonderful meeting we had last night. There are so many spinoff thoughts from that discussion. Here’s something that I am coming to see: In the past (like in the days of Worldwide, or even since in other groups), we come together as physical human beings on the Sabbath and join with others of like mind. But on our Friday night get-togethers, it seems that God is doing something different; He is building a spiritual church, not really a physical one. Yes, we are still physical beings, but we’re joined spiritually. We will never get to sit in the same congregation and visit, but we are joined around the world in a “great congregation” spiritually.
We all believe basically the same regarding things Fred has taught. So I believe God is doing something special with us, but I don’t really know what it is just yet. But it’s obvious we are different from other church of God groups!

Fred: Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. As the Bible says, “A little leaven leavens the whole lump.” For years I was confused about the God of the Old Testament. Until you made it clear to me that Jesus Christ was the God of the Old Testament, I didn’t understand the OT at all. It was like a veil had been taken off and it all became clear.
I used to attend COGWA in Tucson. Before we moved, I felt they were merchandizing the brethren and it made me very uncomfortable. Since we have moved here, so far I have not heard anything in our congregation, or online, that has made me bristle like this. So what does a person do? Do we keep going to services until we see heresy in our own congregations? I see how things can creep in. Those who have not been taught correctly will be left behind. I feel sorry for our youth because the church is not teaching the basics. I’ve only heard one sermon in my whole 14 years of being in the church on unclean meat, idol worship, etc. Thank you so much for making things easy to understand and crystal clear. You make learning about the Bible so fascinating. Your sister in Christ.—L

Dear Fred: A long time ago, when I was 19, I was baptized in Worldwide. From that time on a lot of things have happened. The most important for me has been the corruption of the Church of God in Central America, my region.
So me and my family continued alone, without any group. We suffered a kind of bullying from the church itself. Now I am something of a “black sheep” to most groups.
Reading your materials has been refreshing. Some in El Salvador seem interested in your church as an answer to their spiritual thirst. I hope you will be able to assist them. Dear Fred: Thank you for all the literature you (and those who work with you) provide for us. We thank God for the in depth knowledge and inspiration He has imparted to you. And we thank you for being open to this knowledge and for zealously devoting so much time and effort into praying, studying, and learning the pure truth of God—and then sharing it with us in so many different ways.
My first contact with the CBCG was through a friend who shared your messages on cassette tapes. (There are still shoeboxes full of them in a closet; later, boxes began to fill up with your sermon discs.) We very much appreciate finding a new disc in the mail—and listening to other sermons online. God has used, and is using, your labor of love to help me, my husband, our daughter, and her family grow in understanding of the truth of God’s Word—and to love Him and His words more than ever!
We thank God for the work He does through you! And we fervently pray that for many years to come He will continue to give you health, strength, clarity of mind, and inspiration. And we thank Him for the deep love you must have for His children in order to devote your time, energy, and life to teaching and guiding us toward His kingdom.
P.S.: I almost forgot. I began writing this with the intention of asking you if you offer study guides for individual books of the Bible. A relative of ours, who comes from a Catholic background, began listening to Church at Home and wants to start doing Bible studies with us, beginning with Genesis. Dear Fred: Thank you for providing helpful study aides in disc and print. We certainly live in interesting times. We have more access to more information than ever before, but there is also more deception and confusion of facts and truth perhaps than ever. Thank you for holding the light high and allowing it to shine brightly for those seeking the truth. Hi Fred: After reading some material you sent, plus reading about what happened to the WCG, I figured out why they turned from the truth. How many times have you said, “A little leaven leaves the whole lump”? I knew that to be true, but here is how little that leaven started out:
It began when HWA planned to get married again. Before, people who had been married for years with families had to separate if they had been married previously. Then, when Ramona came along, boom! First, it was suddenly okay to wear makeup. I couldn’t wait to buy lipstick! Then, because my husband wasn’t baptized, I was told that my marriage wasn’t bound and I was free to marry someone else—in the church. But I defied the minister to say my marriage wasn’t bound. Divorce and remarriage was a big hunk of leaven. And people were being softened up for unclean meats. They reacted just like I did about that lipstick. Soon, the Night to be Much Remembered became just a tradition, followed by the Feast being reclassified as tradition. Then the Sabbath. Finally, enter pagan holidays.
But it all started with something so small. Some lipstick. It just hit me, and I finally see how those people were slowly deceived.
I thank God for not giving up on me in spite of the stupid things I’ve thought, said, and done. He is so wonderful! Just wanted to share that with you. Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread will be even more special this year. Love to you and all those who help people like me.—BD
Hi Fred: Thank you for the Baptism Series. All went well. Can you direct me to a sermon study on how God’s people in the Old Testament are justified through Christ? I study your teachings every day and cannot find this. The Faithful Version Bible, commentaries, and appendices are very well done and clear up most of my questions. I hope I am not a pest.
