Dear Brethren,
There is a great political battle taking place in U.S. politics. On the one hand, Washington, DC—perhaps more accurately described as Washington, DLC, the District of Lies and Corruption—seems to be caught up in an unprecedented borrowing and spending spree that will surely spell the doom of the U.S. dollar. On the other hand, there are a fair number of politicians (and a growing majority of citizens) who are trying to stem the tide of rising fascism. They see the destructive policies and actions of the current Administration. Yet, in spite of their power, the Democrats are divided and the majority of Americans are against their plans. The Republicans are now in control of the House of Representatives, so perhaps they can make some difference.
And consider the nation’s religious leaders—Protestant and Catholic. They are enormously ineffective because while the have the Bible they teach very little of the truth of God. Rather, they stick to Sunday-keeping, the observance of pagan holidays, and teach an empty faith with lawless grace. So their efforts at improving America will be feeble at best. They may do some good, but will this be enough to hold back the hand of God’s continuing correction?
Satan is Coming Out in the Open: As we know, the bottom line is this: Our problems are not just physical, political, or monetary—they are spiritual! In addition, we now have an entirely new demographic of those rejecting God and His Word—the countless atheists and God haters in the world. Indeed, Satan is coming out in the open! He and the demons have always been there, mostly behind the scenes, influencing and pulling the strings—in religion, politics, education, media, entertainment. But now Satan and the demons are coming “out of the closet” and becoming more publicly known. For example, the recent Grammy Awards featured for entertainment “Dancing for the Devil.” The dances were obscene, gross, with openly simulated perverted sex acts! Sodom and Gomorrah have arrived—in explicit lewdness!
But even more significantly, the organization The Satanic Temple (TST), with its headquarters in Salem, Massachusetts, is rapidly growing in influence. While the number is undoubtedly exaggerated, they claim more than 1,000,000 members worldwide! It is also recognized as a religion by the IRS. When questioned directly, they deny belief in a personal devil. However, that is a satanic lie. They say their mission is “to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits” (Report, “Intercessors for America,” January 31, 2023).
Shockingly, in the organization’s temple sits a Baphomet statue—a two-horned goat with a human face. Around it are statues of children looking up at it in wonder. It is housed in what they call the “Conversion Room.” Of course they worship Satan and hail his power.
The TST has two major areas of activity, which have received considerable financial and legal support. Number one: They are now filing lawsuits in several states to make abortion legal, with many more lawsuits planned. They are already in the abortion business, as the following report reveals: “The Satanic Temple isn’t just promoting the killing of babies [through] abortions anymore. It is actually killing them through a new ‘religious’ abortion practice in New Mexico. Recently, the satanic group launched a new ‘religious medical services’ arm [of] TST Health (with abortion medications on demand)…. The Satanic Temple believes aborting unborn babies is a religious ‘ritual’ and compares it to communion or baptism for Christians” (News Report, February 1, 2023).
They are ready to set up their first abortion clinic in the state of New Mexico. According to a press release from the group, “Anyone in New Mexico seeking to perform The Satanic Temple’s abortion ritual will be able to receive free online medical services. Licensed medical workers will screen patients during a virtual appointment, and then prescribe abortion drugs through pharmacies that will mail them in ‘a discreet package.’ ” Women will be charged a pharmacy fee of about $90, the report adds. The satanic group has also set up a 24-hour abortion hotline (ibid.).
The question remains: How will the United States Supreme Court rule when satanic religious acts are openly practiced? Remember, the Constitution tells us that the government cannot establish a religion, or discriminate against a religion. How will they rule on abortion “sacrifices” of unborn children—a sacred rite in the TST?
Their second major area of activity is the setting up of “Satan Clubs” for children in elementary schools. Of course, this is one of Satan’s major objectives—subvert the children early and often. Disney World has been doing this for seventy-five years already—to say nothing of the entire entertainment and media industry!
While there are many who are resisting these TST activities, we know from history that once Satan and his demons are accepted into any society they will only continue to openly subvert and destroy through their seductive powers. The TST is growing because people are not willing to truly repent of their sins and come to love and obey God the Father and Jesus Christ!
Satan’s Deception Will Encompass the Whole World: To the religious leaders of His day, Jesus said this about Satan the devil: “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to practice. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he is speaking from his own self; for he is a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44).
They failed to understand that they were not truly serving God—even though they were in charge of the Temple of God in Jerusalem. They thought they were serving God, but they were actually serving Satan.
It is the same today. Those who claim to serve God are actually serving Satan. In the book of Revelation, God shows that Satan is actively deceiving the whole world: “And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent who is called the Devil and Satan, who is deceiving the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him” (Rev. 12:9).
The apostle John also declares this about Satan: “We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the wicked one” (I John 5:19). In Satan’s final deception, he will completely blind the minds of the people of the whole world into accepting the worship of the Beast of Revelation 13—and Satan himself. Yet they will believe they are serving God!
When Satan completely comes out in the open, he will appear as an angel of light and have all the religious and political leaders in the palm of his hand, doing his will: “For such are false apostles—deceitful workers who are transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And it is no marvel, for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his servants also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness—whose end shall be according to their works” (II Cor. 11:13-15).
Satan will gain more and more power until he is ultimately worshipped as God, when the Beast of Revelation 13 comes to power: “And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, and his feet like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it were slain to death, but his deadly wound was healed; and the whole earth was amazed and followed the beast. And they worshiped the dragon, who gave his authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying, ‘Who is like the beast? Who has the power to make war against him?’ ” (Rev. 13:2-4).
The apostle Paul writes of this very thing: “Now we beseech you, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled—neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by epistle, as if from us, saying that the day of Christ is present. Do not let anyone deceive you by any means because that day will not come unless the apostasy shall come first [we are in the midst of that right now], and the man of sin [the Beast of Revelation 13] shall be revealed—the son of perdition, the one who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is an object of worship; so that he comes into the temple of God and sits down as God, proclaiming that he himself is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things?
“And now you understand what is holding him back in order for him to be revealed in his own set time [as shown in Revelation 13]. For the mystery of lawlessness is already working; only there is one Who is restraining at the present time [Christ himself] until it arises out of the midst [of the now developing New World Order]. And then the lawless one will be revealed (whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth, and will destroy with the brightness of His coming). Even the one whose coming is according to the inner working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those who are perishing because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved. And for this cause, God will send upon them a powerful deception that will cause them to believe the lie, so that all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but who took pleasure in unrighteousness” (II Thess. 2:1-12).
Indeed, the world is going after Satan the devil! So we must be diligent to stay close to God the Father and Jesus Christ—and this, as we know, can only come through prayer and Bible study. Every day we must live by every word of God! This is how we stay strong in the Lord!
Paul writes these encouraging words of God on how to resist the temptations and wiles of Satan the devil: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the might of His strength. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Because we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities and against powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual power of wickedness in high places.
“Therefore, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and wearing the breastplate of righteousness, and having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Besides all these, take up the shield of the faith, with which you will have the power to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one; and put on the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying at all times with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and in this very thing being watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Eph. 6:10-18).

Dear Fred: I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated the warm hospitality from the Hollister congregation and yourself during the time we got to visit. As you know, California is a runaway train heading toward Sodom—and I had to get my family out. Because of mandatory school vaccinations, we had no choice but to leave the state. We are doing well in Huntsville, Texas, and I am in the process of building our new home on 9 acres.
Although there is no CBCG congregation in the area, we regularly listen to your Sabbath messages, as they are a breath of fresh air in contrast to the lies that have overtaken the planet. It is very discouraging, however, to see that many of the COGs are completely oblivious to what is happening to our country. In their quest to be perceived as non-political, they completely ignore what is being done by our government leaders. I strongly encourage you to continue to expose the lies, regardless of “political correctness.” I’m sure the Pharisees didn’t think Christ was “politically correct” when He was giving the all of the “woes” of Matthew 23.
Your messages have a great impact on a lot of people and are a beacon of light to many who are isolated. Have you heard of the Church of God Network (churchofgodnetwork.org)? It is a website that shares resources with many isolated COG groups. Many of the leaders of this organization regularly listen to and share your material. My brother attended their recent convention in Kentucky, and you and your teachings were well known. I am encouraging you to continue to fight the good fight and to keep up the good work!—J&CS

Dear Fred and staff: The beautiful flower display arrived a few minutes ago. It was such a wonderful surprise—THANK YOU. I do not know what I did to receive such a gift, but I am so happy I did! Dear Fred: I appreciate how you handled the Steve Greene situation. I was in the Global Church of God for a period of time and they were constantly having a turnover of personnel at headquarters. But they would never talk about why people left or were kicked out—so the rumor mill was allowed to run. If you have turmoil, it is naive to think that no one is going to talk about it.
I believe the split between COGWA and UCG could have been averted if they had utilized Matthew 18. When COGWA was organizing and asking for input, I suggested they try transparency and apply Matthew 18. They ignored me. Later I sent in a doctrinal paper explaining how ekklesia doesn’t mean the ministry in Matthew 18:17, and that the church needed to be transparent. It was rejected unilaterally. They are adamant that ekklesia (in that passage) refers only to the ministry.
It is refreshing to see Matthew 18 properly applied by you.—AS
Fred: One more thing in reference to Matthew 16:19. I think the key is the word “keys” itself. If it is as the Catholics teach, that the New Testament priesthood has power within themselves to bind and loose, then why would Jesus need to give them the “keys”—since they supposedly need not have God’s approval or permission to do whatever they decide?
So the apostles were to be given the “keys” to the Scriptures, through which, with God’s gift of discernment, they would be able to bind and loose in accordance with that which had already been bound and/or loosed, with respect to the Word of God.
This is easy to understand, now that you have explained it. Once the proper translation of the words has been explained, as we say, “the light comes on”!—DB

Greetings from South Africa: Hope all is well! Here in South Africa we have a lot of trouble with electricity and water shortages. Our electricity is sometimes off for 12 hours a day. It creates a lot of challenges. We wonder if we will have any electricity at all this coming winter.
