Greetings, everyone! Welcome to Sabbath services! Here we are and time marches on, and we need to understand what's happening in the world, and the great battle that's going on in the world right now.
Elon Musk dumped the truth of Twitter and the Satanic Democrats. We have to call the Democrat Party Satanists! They don't believe in God. If there are some old time Democrats out there and you think I'm attacking the Democrats, you need to understand that those Democrats who had come allegiance to America and some understanding of serving the people are long gone! They're supplanted by evil people!
One man: Elon Musk! Stay tuned to find out how deep that the evil really is. Someone asked me, 'What do you think about all of that?' I said that it will probably do some good until they assassinate him; same way with Donald Trump! It's interesting:

Those two men are the only thing out there in the world standing against the forces of evil. But the forces and powers of evil are so strong that only two of the news networks—NewsMax and Fox News—covered the release of the e-mails between the Biden Administration and Twitter to censor everything they could so that Donald Trump would lose the election and Biden would get in.
Never, never has there been in the history of the world such and overt worldwide plot that happened with the election in 2020.
We look at all of those things, but all of those things are secondary to the truth of what they come about. We know that it tells us in:
Revelation 12:9: "And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent who is called the Devil and Satan, who is deceiving the whole world…"—actively!
But Satan never comes and says 'I am evil, and my purpose is to destroy you.' NO! He comes and says, 'Look at how good this is.'

Which, by the way, is the one great sin that happened just this last week in the United States Senate. They passed a law to legalize homosexual marriages!
Where do you think that's going to lead? Let's see what God says! God watches over the nations! God says that He judges all of them (Jer. 18). Any nations that does evil, He is going to send the evil! That's what we're seeing happening right now!
Leviticus 18:1: "And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying."
This is not Moses writing! This is not Moses sitting out there in a little tent with a pen, a scroll and ink and writing these words!
GOD—Who created the heavens and the earth all that there is—is telling Moses what He's going to do and why He's going to do it. That tells us today why we are going down as a nation!
Verse 2: "Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, 'I am the LORD your God. As they do in the land of Egypt where you dwelt, you shall not do….'" (vs 2-3).
What are they doing in Egypt right now? You can watch this on NatGeo; they're digging up as many of the tombs in ancient cities of Egypt to find out what happened. Just need to read the Bible!What happened to them is because they were wholly possessed and ruled by Satan the devil.
"…And you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Neither shall you walk in their ordinances. You shall do My judgments and keep My ordinances, and walk in them. I am the LORD your God: (vs 3-4).
Whenever God says that He's the Lord your God, He is putting a powerful exclamation on it for how important that it is.
Verse 5: "And you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live in them. I am the LORD."
Remember another curse of the Protestants: They say that the Law is a curse and that God did away with His Law! Yet, they complain about all the evil that's coming out in the land, because they:
- the Protestants have rejected the Laws of God
- the politicians have rejected the Laws of God
- the educators have rejected the Laws of God
Then they wonder why evil is there! We will read a couple of verses and then we'll understand it! I'm going to give you an assignment to read, which is to read all of Deut. 28 and Lev. 26 so that you can understand what is happening!
Verse 6: "None of you shall approach to any who are near of kin to him to uncover their nakedness. I am the LORD." Meaning to have sexual relations with them!
What are they trying to do? Sexualize children in kindergarten! You will see on one of the latest Church at Home's (churchathome.org) it shows a clip of a man who has a daughter and a son, and he says, 'I'll let them grow up a little bit and then they can choose which sex they want to be!'
- How far have people gotten from God? He speaks of this as this is just a normal thing!
- Has he been brainwashed?
- Has he been trapped in webs of lies? Yes!
Verse 7: "You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father or the nakedness of your mother…."
Then it lists all of the relatives all the way down the line. Remember that the Senate passed 60-39, and three decided they wouldn't vote. So, that's two-thirds of the Senate willfully transgressing and setting into law homosexual marriage. Those are some of the things in Britain that you can't say anymore. You can't say that homosexuality is wrong, because you might offend someone.
Just wait until the diseases come upon them for their wrong sexual behavior!
Verse 22: "You shall not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is an abomination to God. And you shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it. And a woman shall not stand before an animal to lie down to it. It is a perversion" (vs 22-23).
God says, listen carefully! And if there are any politicians listening to this:
- you better listen
- you better hear
- you better fear
- you better repent to God
because your days are numbered! You may be successful for a while, but the punishment coming upon America is going to be horrific indeed!
What did they discover in this last election? Remember before the election, Hooray! They got rid of Roe vs Wade! It's happening just like I wrote in the November letter, they're coming with a vengeance, because they want abortion!
In Montana—one of the conservative states in the United States—they had on the ballot that if a child survives an abortion attempt, should they give that infant medical care or not? Guess what the vote was? Over 50% said NO! What does that tell you?
Now, concerning the election, the reason that it was so close in many states was because single women, those who voted, 65% voted Democrat so they could keep abortion legal!

- What is He looking at? All of those women who have murder in their heart!
That's what it's all about! That's what God is looking to. He's looking to what the majority of people are agreeing to, and that's what they are agreeing to.
Here's another article that shows how crazy they get. Remember what they said, 'Oh, we can't be eating beef anymore because the cows let off gas, Co2 and it's polluting the planet! Now there's coming after dog and cat food. You can't buy dog and cat food that has meat in it. How crazy does it have to get?
Another article says, G-20 signs declaration of passport vacs! In other words you have to have a vacs to go. But IF you get the vacs you may never travel because you might die!
That's why two years ago when all of this started, we immediately came out that we have a Vacs Exemption excuse and we probably sent out 1500 of those.
Another article says that China is taking over Africa, and Brazil. Only one thing is happening to China right now to set them back, and that is the protests and riots that they're having they're having against the government.
It's not because of Covid. So, we'll have to see what happens. If it goes on any longer, their economy will be set back two or three years. Other articles are:

2-Kings 20 (summarized)—the rule of God and the kingship is always intertwined together, or the politics. Here's a righteous king—Hezekiah—he was sick, prayed to God, and God gave him 15 more years. Hezekiah rescued Judah and Jerusalem from the Assyrians by destroying the army of 180,000.
Then the ambassadors from Babylon came over because God gave all the loot that the Assyrians had accumulated and Hezekiah took all the wealth, all the silver, all the gold, all the precious jewels and everything and put it into the treasury of God and other treasury places.
So, the ambassadors from Babylon came because they heard what a wonderful thing it was that that army was found dead. How did that happen? So, Hezekiah told them and then he showed them all the wealth that they had gotten from that.
So, Isaiah came to Hezekiah and said, 'What did they see?' Oh, everything! 'God tells you all of this is going to Babylon! But not in your day.' Then Hezekiah made a very silly statement: Oh, is it not good that there will not be evil in my day?
So, when God tells you something and there's some punishment that you have to take, repent and take whatever God gives you! So, what happened was his son Manasseh:
2-Kings 21:1: "Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign. And he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem…."
Stop and think: How would you like 55 years of Biden? I mean, we can hardly endure two years!
"…And his mother's name was Hephzibah. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel" (vs 1-2).
- What did we read was one of the main sins that they had? Wide open sex!
- What are they pushing today? All the things they're pushing today is for legal pedophilia to sexualize the children from kindergarten up so that they will be worthless when they become adults! They will be addicted to sex, not know how to think, have no understanding of life and they will be the worst possible kind of people, because they want them to be idiots so they can rule over them!
Verse 3: "For he built up again the high places which his father Hezekiah had destroyed. And he erected altars for Baal and made a grove as Ahab king of Israel did…. [that's something; think about it] …And he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. And he built altars in the house of the LORD of which the LORD said, 'In Jerusalem I will put My name'" (vs 3-4). He had to the audacity to put in their idols, homosexual booths!
- Does that sound like what's going on today? Almost the same thing?
- If they vote to legalize homosexual marriage, how far down the road do you think it will be before they legalize pedophilia?
- Why? Because the majority of people will be given over to all kinds of weird sex and on drugs!
If you think that the homeless population is bad today, just wait!
Verse 5: "Then he built altars for all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of the LORD. And he made his son pass through the fire and observed times and used witchcraft. And he dealt with familiar spirits and wizards. He worked much wickedness in the sight of the LORD to provoke Him to anger. And he set a graven image of the grove, which he had made in the house of which the LORD had said to David and to Solomon his son, 'In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever. And I will not again make the feet of Israel wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if…'" (vs 5-8),
If everything in relationship to people and God is always based on IF! We have free moral agency, that's true, but:
- How are you going to do it?
- Are you going to use it for your own selfishness?
- Are you going to use it to perpetrate evil?
- What are you going to do?
You're stuck with a problem: that's problem is this, and all of us who have the Spirit of God better well remember this: Jeremiah said, 'O Lord, the way of man is not in him to direct his steps! Correct me with mercy!'
Look at how easy it is when false doctrine is accommodated! What is the principle from the Feast? A little leaven leavens the whole lump! Sometimes that little bit of leaven will be there, be there and be there, but it's still there and it hasn't grown. Do you know what happens next? It explodes and it's everywhere!
"'…only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.' But they did not hearken. And Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than the nations ever did whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel" (vs 8-9).
Here's what happens, and think about what is happening today. Look at all the black racism against whites and Asians. But you watch the news and on some channels they don't even report it. Do you know what's going to happen? More and more people are going to be carrying concealed weapons, and when these gangs come into stores to rob and steal, they're just going to shoot them, because law enforcement, judges, politicians and religionists are not willing to stand for what God has said.
Look at what is going to happen. I what you to read all of Deut. 28, and also read Lev. 26. Are these things happening to us today. Look at all the things that God said they would have to put up with, with sickness and disease.
- Do we have more sickness and disease than at any time in the history of America? Yes!
- Do we have diseases that cannot be cured? Yes!
- Have they destroyed the land and so many things that the food we have now is really not food?
Most of what people get is already packaged up and virtually worthless food!
Deuteronomy 28:43: "The stranger dwelling among you…"
- How many strangers has Biden let into America? Five million in two years!
- Do you think that we can take another 5-million in the next two years?
Because there are so many women—and men agreeing with them—having abortions, yes there will probably be another 5-million! Because: Those who should be teaching the Truth are not!
Verse 43: "The stranger dwelling among you shall get up above you very high…"
Since the Word of God is true, that's going to happen! Look at what the idiot Gov. Newsome of California—who wants to become President—proposed: reparations for blacks to the tune of $567-billion!
"…and you shall come down very low. He shall loan to you, and you shall not loan to him.…" (vs 43-44).
Isn't that what has happened with U.S. Treasury Bonds? Nobody is buying them anymore. Who is buying them? The Fed into the Exchange Stabilization Fund! The unaudited fund that the Fed totally controls! When you understand that the Fed is really a separate foreign corporation, then you will know what's going to happen.
"…He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail" (v 44).
Isn't that what's happened. The blacks come along and say, 'All right, you whites tell us why you're so prejudice against us.' Reverse the question: if you think we're prejudice against you, why don't you tell us why you're prejudice against us? If you think that the blacks in America are prejudice, you ought to read what the Chinese say about blacks. If the Chinese ever take over America, it's going to be a bloodbath!
Verse 45: "And all these curses…" That is penalties! Just change the name. A lot of people don't like curses. 'Why would God bring curses if He's a God of love?' Have you loved Him back recently? So, penalties:
"…shall come on you, and shall pursue you and overtake you, until you are destroyed because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes, which He commanded you. And they shall be on you for a sign and for a wonder, and on your seed forever. Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart for the abundance of all things" (vs 45-47).
He also says in another place, in the latter days you'll understand. Here we are. This is where we are, so don't look for anything to change very much. If it changes a little bit that tells us that all of us in the Churches of God better be preaching the warning message and the coming Kingdom of God.

When we look at:
- what's happening in the world
- what's happening in America
- what's happening in China with all of the protests going on
It makes me wonder if that's going to increase China's outreach to the world, because they will need more food, or just exactly what it's going to do.
You need to know that the Chinese have had their eyes on America for over 30 years. We will see what would be necessary to straighten out America. This is where we are right now today. It's been a cycle with Israel throughout it's whole history.
Read all of Psa. 78, and in particularly v 49 talking about what God did to Egypt, that He sent wicked angels.
Psalm 78:49: "He cast upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath and fury and trouble, by sending evil angels among them."
That shows us that there comes a time when there is so much evil that God let's more demons out of prison. That will help what's happening in America today and why it's so messed up mentally, spiritually and physically.
Hosea 4:1: "Hear the Word of the LORD, children of Israel…"
Will they really hear? There are a lot of Protestants who are saying the right words, some of the right things. Over Thanksgiving I watched TBN and they had a minister on there who was actually properly quoting Scripture. I was amazed! Then I looked more carefully, and it came from the archives and was probably from the late 1960s or early 70s. One thing he was preaching there was why we need to be thankful, preaching Acts 17 where Paul told all of the philosophers there that 'in God we live, move and have our being.'
I thought, that has to be a recording of something back in the 1970s and when they panned the audience you could tell that, yes, that's what it was. So, there was a time when they did pretty good, but not now. Here's what's happening today:
"…for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land…" (v 1).
Not just the leaders, not just the religious and political leaders, but the inhabitants.
"…'There is no truth…'" We're crashing down through to Christmas time! Another big lie!
"…nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and the committing of adultery they break out; and blood touches blood" (vs 1-2). That's a perfect description of what's happening in America today!
Verse 3: "Therefore, shall the land mourn… [the people in the land mourn] …and everyone who dwells in it shall languish, with the beasts of the field and with the birds of the heavens. Yes, the fish of the sea shall also be taken away."
What did they just have up in Maine just this last week? All these who have a 'save the world' agenda: join us and help us destroy most of the people in the world. That should be the title of their agenda. So, they just declared that they have to stop fishing for lobster in Maine. Now, lobster is unclean and we won't eat it. But it comes from the sea.
Verse 4: "Yet, let no man strive, nor reprove another, for your people are as those who strive with the priest. And you shall stumble in the day, and the prophet also shall stumble with you in the night, and I will destroy your mother. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge… [the knowledge of God] …Because you have rejected knowledge… [How close are we coming to this]: …I will also reject you from being as a priest to Me…." (vs 4-6).
Wasn't that the covenant that He gave to Israel originally, they would be a kingdom of priests to Him? They were to take God's way to the whole rest of the world! Instead, they invited the whole world into them.
"…Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I will also forget your children" (v 6). That's what's happening!
Is there a possibility that it could be turned around? Remember what we covered concerning Manasseh! Let's see what happened in 2-Kings. There could be a short reprieve.
Talk about using someone very young; 2-Kings 22:1: "Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign. And he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath. And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD…" (vs 1-2).
The only way that America could be straightened out. There could be, IF there would be a President who would do like Abraham Lincoln did during the Civil War. He would have to suspend all civil rights, because there's a war going on. He would have to gather all of the religious leaders and the heads of all of the politicians, like happened here in the rest of 2-Kings 22.
Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law and brought it to king and when the king heard it, he rent his clothes in repentance.
Verse 13[transcriber's correction]: "Go inquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book which is found, for great is the wrath of the LORD which is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened to the words of this book to do according to all which is written concerning us."
Then he sent for Huldah the prophetess; v 15: "And she said to them, 'Thus says the LORD God of Israel. Tell the man who sent you to me, "Thus says the LORD, 'Behold, I will bring evil upon this place and upon the people of it, all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read… [we just read some of those] …because they have forsaken Me and have burned incense to other gods so that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore, My wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched.'" (vs 15-17).
Verse 18: "But… [there could be a reprieve; let's see who that would have to be] …to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of the LORD, thus you shall say to him, 'Thus says the LORD God of Israel, "Regarding the words which you have heard, because your heart was tender and you have humbled yourself before the LORD, when you heard what I spoke against this place… [IF you read the words of God, you're hearing what He spoke] …and against its people (that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes and wept before Me), I have heard you," says the LORD'" (vs 18-19).
Verse 20: "'Behold, even so I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace… [that's what they had from that time forward, peace] …And your eyes shall not see all the evil that I will bring upon this place.'"' And they brought the king this word again" (vs 14-20).
The king gathered all the leaders, all the priests and everybody came to the temple. They made a covenant. The king stood by his place, and they read all the words of the Lord!
2-Kings 23:4: "And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels, which were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven. And he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron and carried the ashes of them to Bethel.… [where Jeroboam setup the golden calf; one in the south in Bethel; one in the north in Dan] …And he removed the idol-worshiping priests…" (vs 4-5).
Look at what he had to do! That's what would have to happen. There would have to be a major reform with the Protestants. How many Catholics would go along, I don't know. They're just pure pagan! They would have to embrace:
- Sabbath-keeping
- Holy Day-keeping
- preaching the commandments of God
And they would have to virtually have a great slaughter of those who refuse to repent! I don't see that happening here in America!
Verse 5: "And he removed the idol-worshiping priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places around Jerusalem. He also removed those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of the heavens. And he brought out the Asherah image from the house of the LORD outside Jerusalem to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and stamped it to powder, and threw the powder of it upon the graves of the children of the people. And he broke down the houses of the sodomites…" (vs 5-7).
Think about that! They had little tent enclosures all around the Temple of God where the sodomites would come and perform their perverted sex! So, you can see what would have to happen. That's the only way.
"…which were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove coverings for the grove. And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba. And he broke down the high places of the gates, which were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city. Nevertheless, the priests of the high places did not come up to the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they ate of the unleavened bread among their brethren" (vs 7-9).
In other words, all the priests were demoted! That would take something! They had a tremendous Passover and Unleavened Bread that was never the like of that up to that point, and never again after that!
Everything was going along nice and then there was a battle between the Egyptians and the Babylonians over in Chemosh, and the king wanted to go. He was told not to go, that 'this is not your battle, don't go.' But his vanity got the best of him and he decided to dress up as a soldier and go, so he went and he got shot with an arrow and died. That ended the revival that he brought about.
You can see what would have to happen! Now let's look at the sum of the things that we need to do. Remember that when Paul called all of the elders down to Miletus he was on his way to Jerusalem. Paul brought all the elders down from Ephesus and here's what he told them. He knew that he wasn't going to come back again.
Acts 20:18—this sounds like a little bit like how Israel behaved themselves: "And when they had come to him, he said to them, 'You know how, from the first day I came to Asia, and all the time I was with you, I served the Lord with all humility and with many tears and temptations, which came upon me through the plots of the Jews" (vs 18-19).
Read 2-Cor. 11 if you think you're having a tough time. However tough your time may be, or what you're going through, is nothing compared to what the Apostle Paul went through to serve God.
Verse 20: "And how I did not keep back anything that was profitable, but preached to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house, earnestly testifying, both to the Jews and the Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (vs 20-21).
Tomorrow we're going to have a conference with the elders. It will be a digital conference, so this is also some of the things that we're going to cover. The Churches of God are #1 targets of Satan the devil!
We have to be strong in the Lord! We can't be giving into different ideas, false doctrines and so forth. But notice what Paul said here:
Verse 22: "And now behold, I am bound in the spirit, and am going to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall happen to me there; except that the Holy Spirit fully testifies in every city, saying that bonds and tribulations await me" (vs 22-23).
You go through and read that! Acts 21 & 22. Paul gave a tremendous witness that he couldn't have given in any other way that it worked out the way that it was.
Verse 24: "But I myself do not take any of these things into account, nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify the Gospel of the grace of God. And now behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone about proclaiming the Kingdom of God, will see my face no more" (vs 24-25). So, there are things that we preach:
- the grace of God
- the forgiveness of sin
- repentance and baptism
- growing in grace and knowledge
- developing the character of God
That's all contained in the grace of God! With the grace of God each one of us individually have direct access to God the Father!
Regardless of how it is around you, don't get taken down with depression or worry about what's going to happen.
I pray every day for all the brethren, for God to put His angels about them, wherever they are around their houses or wherever they are traveling. That's our protection!
Verse 26: "Wherefore, I testify to you on this day that I am pure from the blood of all, for I have not held back from preaching to you all the counsel of God. Take heed…" (vs 26-28).
This is what it needs to be with all of us who are elders:
- we need to take heed
- we need to be diligent
- we need to be praying
- we need to be studying
and all the brethren, as well!
Verse 28: "Take heed therefore, to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers… [not overlords] …to feed the Church of God…"
Remember what Christ told Peter three times: Feed My lambs, feed My sheep, shepherd My sheep!.
"…which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this: that after my departure grievous wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock" (vs 28-29).
How many times has the Churches of God lived through that down through time? We lived through it!
Verse 30: "And from among your own selves men will rise up speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after themselves."
When Paul said that, they didn't believe it. They accepted that he said it, but they look around at each other and think about who it could be. How could it happen? Well, we've all lived through that, haven't we? Some of us a couple of times! It does happen, because Satan the devil is out there as Paul wrote to Timothy to capture as many as he can.
Verse 31: "Watch, therefore, remembering that for three years I ceased not to admonish each one night and day with tears. And now I commit you, brethren, to God and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified" (vs 31-32).
Let's see what else it is that Paul said in Eph. 4, and this was misapplied too many times in the past with the hierarchy.
Ephesians 4:11: "And He gave some asapostles… [those were first] …and some prophets… [those came next] …and some evangelists… [those came next] …and some pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints…" (vs 11-12).
That's what God wants. We're to be perfected:
- with God's Spirit
- with God's Word, which is His Truth
- with His love
- with understanding God's way
"…for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ" (v 12). That is:
- up-building
- strengthening
- helping them all to know and understand what they need to do
Notice that Paul included himself with all the brethren:
Verse 13: "Until we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."
That's what God wants us to be doing in these troublous times that we see on every hand around us. Not being discouraged, not being in despair, but know that that is what God says it's going to be like at the end-time. We stay close to God in prayer and study, and close to each other, communicating with each other.
Verse 14: "So that we no longer be children, tossed and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men…"
We just experienced that recently. All of us have to be on guard. I was happy to see that many of the brethren responded immediately, as well as many of the elders when this came up. That shows that you're learning, you're growing, you're overcoming! That's what God wants.
"…sleight of men in cunning craftiness … [because they never come out and say, 'Hey, I infiltrated this place to take you down'; but that's what they do] … with a view to the systematizing of the error" (v 14).
Paul was telling them; look they're going systematize the error. That's one thing they teach in Bible colleges, systematic theology! Interesting, isn't it? What's the big error they have systematized? Sunday, holidays! Here's what we are to do regardless of what's going on around us.
Verse 15: "But holding the Truth in love…"
Our prayer every day needs to be, 'O Lord God, help us to love You with all our heart, mind, soul and being.' That's the strength that we're going to have. We're not going to have it otherwise. The systematizing of the error and trying to come against the Churches of God is not going to cease.
Verse 15: "But holding the Truth in love may in all things grow up into Him Who is the Head, even Christ" (15)—tie in:
Philippians 2:5: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."
That's a thing that God wants us to have, because the Word of God and the Spirit of God is that which protects our mind and protects our belief through prayer and study and living God's way! That's what does it!
Verse 16: "From Whom all the Body, fitly framed and compacted together by that which every joint supplies, according to its inner working in the measure of each individual part, is making the increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. So then, I declare and testify this in the Lord that you are no longer to walk even as the rest of the Gentiles are walking, in the vanity of their minds" (vs 16-17).
What happens when they do that? For example, right in the middle of this leading up to Christmas, how many people would take it if you told them they have been deceived—and you don't even know it—into doing things that God says don't do!
Oh no! why Christmas is a wonderful time. We get together with the family, give presents to the children. We honor Christ. If you tell them that:
- they are completely deceived
- they don't know when Jesus was born
- they know nothing about the holidays of the world, where they came from being pagan
Even if they understand they came from paganism, they say, 'Well, they've been made for Christ now.'
You would have a difficult time explaining it to them.
Notice what happens, v 18: "Having their understanding darkened…" Another place it says that they're blinded and in another place it says that they have a veil over their eyes at the reading of Moses!
"…being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their hearts" (v 18).
Isn't that something? Look at the stubbornness, harness of heart.
Verse 19: "They have cast off all feelings, and have given themselves up to licentiousness, to work every uncleanness with insatiable desire."
That's epitomized by the Christmas that comes every year.
Verse 20: "But you have not so learned Christ; if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, according to the Truth in Jesus: That concerning your former conduct, you put off the old man, which is corrupt according to deceitful lusts" (vs 20-22).
Understand this; here is something that is true: The Spirit of God working in you will help reveal to you the evil that's within! That's why Paul said in Rom. 7:
When I desire to do good, evil is present with me. Therefore, I can't do the good that I want to do, and the things that are evil I don't want to do, I'm find that I'm doing it.
This is the Apostle Paul!When you first read Rom. 7 you probably think:
- Was Paul ever converted? Yes he was!
- What was it that was causing this? The deepness of human nature and the sin within!
So, when we struggle and overcome that, and draw close to God, we are overcoming! That's what's important! You can expel those thoughts! You can get rid of them!
Verse 21: "If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, according to the Truth in Jesus."
Every time you read what Jesus said in the Gospels, you are hearing Him! The written word, inspired by God, is what God would tell you if He were here personally. That's why we have the Word of God. Here's what we do:
Verse 22: "That concerning your former conduct, you put off the old man…" That means keep putting it off!
- the old person
- the old ways
- the old thoughts
"…which is corrupt according to deceitful lusts; and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind" (vs 22-23)—be renewed day by day!
Rom. 12 says that our minds are to be transformed! That's interesting because the Greek means metamorphosed! In other words, just like a caterpillar, it builds the chrysalis around it and then it is metamorphosed into a butterfly. Liken it to that!
God is doing something special in all of His saints, and all of His people wherever they are. When the world is falling down around us, we need not get caught up in the calamity of it falling down around us, but draw close to God so we can be strong in the Lord!
Verse 24: "And that you put on the new man, which according to God is created in righteousness and Holiness of the Truth."
What's going on within your mind? A creation! God is creating within everyone who has the Holy Spirit of God, and those who are close to Him in prayer and study, creating the mind of Christ.
We don't know how it's going to happen, but it may be that every one of us are going to be called upon, as Jesus said, to give a witness against the evil ones who are coming against us. What did Jesus say about that? Don't meditate on it, don't worry about it, don't think about it, but in that hour the Father will give you the words to say! It's not you who is doing it, but the Father! So, keep that in mind!
Verse 25: "Therefore, let each one put away lies and speak the truth with his neighbor, because we are members of one another. When you become angry, do not sin… [it's not wrong to be angry at times, but don't sin] …Do not let the sun go down on your anger" (vs 25-26).
Here's a great principle: it doesn't matter if it's anger, if it's sorrow or depression—whatever it is—don't go to bed with that on your mind. Go pray first and then go to bed.
Verse 27: "Neither give place to the devil."
Take this one sentence and it tells you that any of the things that Paul mentioned here to get rid of, if you don't get rid of it, it gives place to the devil!
Verse 28: "Let the one who stole, steal no more; rather, let him labor with his hands, working at what is good, so that he may impart something to the one who has need. Do not let any corrupt communication come out of your mouth…" (vs 28-29). That's challenge sometimes!
Those who used to live a life of every other word was a swear word, you're probably going to find that within your mind there's still a lot of those there. So, you need to get rid of them. That's why the Spirit of God reveals it to you, so you can repent of it!
"…but that which is good and needful for edification that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not vex… [frustrate] …the Holy Spirit of God…" (vs 29-30).
That means that if you're convicted that something is not right and you give into it, then you're vexing the Holy Spirit, which was revealing to you that you shouldn't do it. So, you need to repent of that.
"…by which you have been sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and indignation, and wrath, and clamor, and evil speaking be removed from you, together with all malice; and be kind and tenderhearted toward one another, forgiving one another, even as God has also in Christ forgiven you" (vs 30-32). What are we to do?
Ephesians 5:1: "Therefore, be imitators of God…" That's quite a statement! Think about that!
"…as beloved children; and walk in love, even as Christ also loved us, and gave Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor" (vs 1-2).
Then Paul tells you all the other things to avoid! When we're living in th is world, as evil as it's getting, and as upside down and backward a satanic as it is, we can survive; we will survive!
God will give us the strength that we will be faithful to the end, so that when we will enter into the Kingdom of God at the resurrection and Christ will say, 'Well done good and faithful servant!'
