Greetings, everyone! Welcome to Sabbath services.

Have you seen this ad on television? Here's a whole group of different people on a bus and they're playing some music. Some of them have their earplugs in, so they're listening from a device. They're all sitting there moving their heads to music they are hearing. Have you seen that ad?

• What's controlling their minds?
• What's controlling what they're doing?
• Are they doing this consciously or are they doing this because of the rhythm?
• Are they doing this because of the beat?
• What are the words that they are listening to?
• And what's going into their minds?

Who and what controls your mind? And it becomes a very important topic, because as we covered in #1, they are working on technologies, as I have said, with minute electromagnetics and frequencies control people. This is what I said concerning the mark of the beast that if you take the mark of the beast, it has more to do with control. Buying and selling is only a periphery of it. It is a major thing.

But it's just like this. In Matthew 24 it says, 'As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of man. They were marrying, they were giving in marriage, eating and drinking until the day that Noah entered the ark.'

Is marrying and giving in marriage sin worthy of death? No! Is eating and drinking a sin worthy of death? No! So, what He's explaining there is that we need to look at the contemporary time to find out how it was during the days of Noah. Same way with the mark of the beast and buying and selling. That is not going to be the only aspect of it. Here is what God has given to every human being. Let's come back here to Deuteronomy 30. Every human being has free will and choice and God has given every human being a conscience. In all cases, they have to exercise that.

If you're listening to music and giving yourself over to music, the music is controlling your mind. Have you ever gone into a store and they have this really awful music? And you think, 'Man, why do they have that music?' I went into Knob Hill Market at about 8:30 in the morning and here they had all of this nearly hard-rock music going. I asked the clerk, I said, 'Look at everyone who's in here. We're all senior citizens. Why don't you play some nice music and we'll buy more things? With this music, I want to get out of here.'

The truth is McDonald's has learned. Most of the senior citizens that come in there are McDonald's babies, grown seniors. So you go in there in the morning for breakfast time and they have nice music, and the seniors are sitting there drinking their senior coffee, which here we can get for 64-cents. They're eating whatever they're eating. There are several tables over to the McDonald's where I buy my coffee and they're over there all of the 'old codgers,' and they're talking about the politics. They're over trying to solve all the problems of the world.

If you give yourself to someone else, something else, then you are not controlling your mind, and you end up either limiting or forfeiting your free moral agency. God gave us minds so that we can continually learn. He gave us minds that we can control our thoughts, and especially with His Holy Spirit. The whole thing of conversion has to do with

• your mind
• your spirit
• your heart
• your whole life

So, it's very important who or what controls your mind. This is for everyone. This is how it started out with Adam and Eve. As I mentioned, the reason He put the two trees in the middle of the Garden, because those are the two essentials of life. Good and evil or the tree of life. He didn't put it in a corner, hard to find.

Here is basically what they received in the Garden of Eden. Deuteronomy 30:15: "Behold, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil." What does God want us to do? And why did He give us this choice? God did not make us a robots. God did not make us automatons. If that were the case, then He could just funnel into our brain whatever He wants. He created Adam and Eve with a language within their brains. But He wants us to choose. Because our purpose, as we have seen, is to enter into the Family of God as His children, to raise us from the human level to the God level, as we covered in Transhumanism #5—God's Plan.

So here's what God says. And this is a command. Do you believe in the commands of God? "In that I command you this day to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments so that you may live and multiply. And the LORD your God shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it" (v 16).

Let's take that and let's put this in the spiritual aspect of entering into the Kingdom of God and the spiritual things that are required. It's evident when you look at the political scene, you look at all the candidates that are running and you wonder, 'Can't any of them anywhere get it right?' Not one of them can get it right. Why? Because they don't have the Spirit of God and they don't rule by the laws and commandments of God.

The two that come closest to getting it right, as I mentioned, Michelle Bachmann and Rick Santorum, how does the public receive, 'You ought to be good, you ought to keep the commandments of God'? And Michelle Bachmann said the first thing this nation needs to do is turn to God. She quoted part of the prayer of Solomon where he said, 'If your people will turn to this place and confess their sins, You'll forgive their sins.' So how far did she go with that? Can you imagine coming before the log-cabin Republicans—now you know what log-cabin Republicans are—don't you? Yes, they're the homosexuals that support the Republicans. Can you imagine her coming and giving a speech like that to that group? How well would she be received?

This is what God wants, so that He can bless you, so that He can help you develop your mind so that your mind becomes transformed and converted and God-like. Now, Satan on the other hand, doesn't want that—does he? No, he doesn't!

So God says here. "But if your heart turn away so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them... [There is a warning: Don't do it. And the whole history of Israel and Judah is: yes, they did/no, they didn't; yes, they did/no they didn't. And finally, they had to be sent off into exile because of refusing to obey God.] ...I denounce to you this day that you shall surely perish... [The wages of sin is death—right? Yes!] ...you shall not prolong your days on the land where you pass over Jordan to go to possess it'" (vs 17-18).

Notice how important the free exercise of your choices are: You're born here, you live your life, you do whatever you do and then you come over here to a period then where God begins dealing with you and He exposes to you your sins. Now you've got a choice. What are you going to do? And what He shows you is that what you've done in the past is not right.

• Are you tired of it?
• Do you want to change?
• Do you want to follow God?

Verse 19: "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life, so that both you and your seed may live." We must choose!

• repentance is a choice
• keeping the Sabbath is a choice
• learning to love God is a choice
• growing and overcoming is a choice
• exercising our minds every day is a whole series of choices—some major, some minor, some incidental, and so forth

Who and what controls your mind? Look at those who go after the rock stars. Why is it that they end up rebellious? Because the music is rebellious! It does something to the mind. Everything that comes into your mind is processed. Your mind reacts because it has billions of synapses that cause the brain to work.

The spirit of man is what gives it the energy and the power to work and the brain then operates on the electro-magnetic biological impulses, first in the brain, then in our nerves that run our whole bodies.

• God wants us to choose life.
• He wants us to live
• He wants our children to live.
• He also wants us in His Kingdom

—and all of that is a choice. God is not going to force anyone to give up their free choice. That does Satan want to do? He wants to take away your free choice. He wants to cause you to follow him! Where am I going with this? We'll see in just a minute.

Verse 20: "That you may love the LORD your God, and may obey His voice..." We've got everything necessary for salvation shown to us. We can read it. Be sure and get the real thing, just in case the electricity goes off. Up north this morning, right at a point that I said something about the electricity going off, guess what happened? The electricity went off. Everyone looked at me and said, 'Oh, oh, Fred, what did you do?' It came on in a couple of minutes.

"...That you may love the LORD your God, and may obey His voice, and may cleave to Him; for He is your life... [That squares with what the New Testament says. 'For in Him we live and move and have our being.'] "...for He is your life..." 1-Cor. 4 tells us that we have nothing we didn't receive. Everything we have we've received. Even the air you breathe, God gives it to the good and the evil, to the just and the unjust.

"...for He is your life and the length of your days, so that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers—to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob—to give it to them." That's the physical promise. What is the spiritual promise? Entering into the Kingdom of God and eternal life! Of course, from the Old Testament to the New Testament everything is magnified. Nothing has been done away. It's been replaced with a higher standard.

As we covered in Who and What Controls Your Mind #1, Satan the devil is the 'prince of the power of the air.' I'm going to read another report here, part 2 of the super-establishment elite, those in the world who knowingly follow Satan the devil, whom he rewards with riches, with wealth, with control! Who are they? A lot of them you don't even know, because they operate behind the scenes. But they have been planning on how they can control human beings with electronic impulses. They can do it.

Years ago they had this on the movies, they had them flash Coke/popcorn, Coke/popcorn—just a flash! Guess what? They doubled and tripled their sales of Coke and popcorn at intermission. So, things can be put into our minds. A lot of the television shows that we are watching is putting things into the minds of people. Just a flash! Set you up!

It is that they signal new mind control technology and it's called inception. (Article: Illuminati Signal New Mind Control Technology, Dec. 16, 2011, Part 2, by Aspen. www.henrymakow.com), which the writer here says should be insertion. Have you ever gone along and you're just minding your own business, you're feeling really good, you're not doing anything wrong, you're thinking good thoughts. And all of sudden—BANG!—here comes this evil thought crossing your mind. Have you ever had that happen? Where did it come from? The 'prince of the power of the air'! And also what is latently still stored in your mind.

When we're done with this series, you need to go back and review the Washing of the Water by the Word so we can get those things out of our minds that control us. Look at how they control people during Christmas time. Play all this nice, wonderful music. I'm not going to sing any of it, because I want to get them out of my mind. But you know, you go into the store and they have all this nice music. What's that for? To get you to buy—right? Forget about the interest rate. You'll face that at the beginning of next year. To buy! And as we covered this morning, the merchants of the earth have grown rich. The international corporations: Coca Cola. I bet if I said Coca Cola is: the real thing—right? McDonald's: I'm loving it. Have they planted something into your mind? Yes, indeed!

Illuminati Signal New Mind Control Technology (Dec. 16, 2011—henrymakow.com):

The movie... [Inception] ...shows the application of behavior-changing thought insertion... [of ideas into the mind.]

This also ties in with transhumanism where they want to plug you into a computer. Pretty soon they won't have to plug you into computer, they can just do it by waves. So their goal is to enslave us—

…Mind control is their chosen method.

Stop and think! How are you going to have a world government with the nations of the world the way that they are unless you have some means of control? Look at 'chaos-stan' from Morocco clear over to Western China.

"The announcement, in the mainstream media, of the 'precursor' form of this technology is meant to prepare the population for what is yet to come: voluntary personality alteration, via thought-inducing technology."

They already have this—don't they? You want to quit smoking? Listen to this music. And lot of it is very relaxing music, like the waves of the sea; that relaxes you. When you go out to the ocean you see the waves coming in and you smell all this good ionized fresh air coming right off the ocean. You feel great and you're very uplifted. Buried in there are messages: Don't smoke! Don't buy any! Don't pick anything up!

Rather than you disciplining your mind, they're controlling you. They could also have things in there like: Watch these beautiful women, aren't they nice? Oh, look at those strong men, aren't they handsome?

A month ago Dr. Makow published a precursor to this article published a precursor to this article which made the claim that "The Illuminati [super-elite] have the means to introduce thoughts, to influence nighttime dreams, and to produce visual projections seemingly in real time space….

What are we going to do when we have television you no longer look at a screen. You have a little stage in the middle of the room and you have it projected from how many ever projections and you have literal virtual reality that looks better than 3-D. 3-D is going to be old here pretty quick. People are going to get tired of wearing the glasses, so it'll be coming out, you wait and see.

…They have sponsored brain-pattern science because the ability to produce a controlling mental signal is the final key to controlling humanity."

You don't even have to have a direct electrical impulse sent to you to control some of your thoughts—just words or messages that you hear, music that you hear, videos that you watch, movies that you go to. I know the last movie we went to, I forget this was a couple years ago. Kids said, 'Let's go watch the movie.' Okay, so we go in there and we buy a big half-barrel of popcorn and sit there and watch. The music comes on—BOOM! And the music is not to add to the movie, it is to drive it through every cell of your being!

Just like these rock concerts. They're not there for entertainment. They are there to control those people, to put thoughts into their minds, to get them to respond what they want them to do. To get them

• to hate God
• turn against God
• get involved in sex and drugs

That's what it's all about. They've got this beat that is rebellious. So if you don't believe me, just Google. Find out the adverse affects of modern music—rock music, rap music. Their operating principle is this:

The operating principle of this mind-control technology is a 'sixth sense'—the electromagnetic brain field….

In other words, with this mind-control, electromagnetic brain field, they want to get to your thoughts and your conscience.

…The scientific assessment is that this field is responsive—therefore, control is possible.

Whatever part of it is in your mind. That's why this ad with people sitting in the bus, all of them doing this. Then it showed people at home doing the same thing. Then it showed another man, top part of him in a shower, doing the same thing in the shower—all controlled by an exterior means!

Learning a martial art, how to fly a plane or how to speak a new language without even being awake is set to become a reality, say researchers. Scientists at Boston University and ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan, believe that in the future learning a new skill might involve nothing more than sitting in front of a computer screen and waiting for it to 'upload'.

You come in speaking English and you leave speaking Japanese. Ah-so, Sayonara.

They have been studying how a functional magnetic resonance machine (FMRI) can 'induce' knowledge in someone through their visual cortex by sending signals that change their brain activity pattern.

Meaning it is as if they are thinking this through themselves, but they're not.

This process is called Decoded Neurofeedback, or 'DecNef'. No medication is needed and the subject doesn't even have to be awake, he or she simply has their brain activity changed to a 'target' pattern, which could be anything from that of a star footballer to a master chess player.

I wonder if they're going to have backup in all the football players start 'Tebow-ing.'

Lead author Takeo Watanabe from the University of Boston said: "Adult early visual areas are sufficiently plastic... [that is moldable] ...to cause visual perceptual learning."

All of this has been projected in movies and guess who goes to all of the movies? The young people! What is doing to their minds? It's getting them ready! It's getting them ready for the finale of the beast and the false prophet and the mark of the beast.

In the The Matrix trilogy the characters learn new skills by having a computer physically plugged into their brains and new skills directly uploaded.

That's old hat now.

The day when we are able to do something similar is not too far away, say the researchers.

My original article stated that a more sophisticated version of this technology is already in use. That was an educated guess. Profound "deep research" conducted in Illuminati [super-elite establishment]-controlled labs is fed back, in seeping fashion, into the comparatively limp (and relatively under-funded) realm of mainstream academia...

In other words, they're even doing this in the colleges.

...enough to produce hints and shades of advancements which are already well into their second- and third-tier stages of development. By this means, both society and the academic world are prepped to accept what is to come.

Isn't that something? What's it going to be? Think of this: You need an education. So you pay so much for it and you get it through a computer and then they give you a degree. Amazing!

Meanwhile, it's of no passing significance that the authors of this article chose to refer to The Matrix. The Matrix is a film that was written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers. Notably, the Wachowski Brothers likewise scripted the consummate Illuminati film, V for Vendetta. Both films featured a key acting tool, Hugo Weaving.

Then it shows what they do. Isn't it interesting that some parents have let their children go to rock concerts, go to movies, and they come back with a completely different mindset. That's how it works.

The comment was made: Is God going to allow this so that we lose control of our minds? No! It's ultimately going to require the mark of the beast for the total control that they are planning on. That's why the penalty is so severe. We'll look at it here in just a little bit.

CONSCIOUS CONVERSION IS THE GOAL

The mind must accept the reason for the setting. It is not sufficient only to introduce new thoughts, notions, and impulses which enable deep control. The receiver must eventually be willing to accept them... [by choice] ...and follow them at the conscious level. Individuals being influenced by mind control themselves perform the psychological choices, which hide the external control. This is kit and key to the success of the process. Rebellion against the process would be a risk.

There are some other things that I could bring here, but what it is, it's all based on choice. Since we're here, let's fast-forward the Bible to Revelation again. This will help us understand concerning the mark of the beast.

How is the whole world going to be prepared to worship the beast? A mindset! Then miracles by the false prophet through Satan the devil. We know about everyone receiving the mark of the beast.

Revelation 13:16: "And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, to receive a mark in their right hands, or in their foreheads; So that no one may have the ability to buy and sell unless he has the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name" (vs 16-17).

They're going to have the experimental of this up in Salt Lake City, here beginning this year or next year in 2012, where they're going to try and convert the whole city to a cashless area. They know the ins and outs, the ups and downs, the problems and difficulties of a cashless society. It'll be done with swipe cards. Then there will be those who will say, 'Well, why don't you put it in my hand? Why should I carry a card?' What's going to happen with that? They're going to have a 5-year test run of it in Salt Lake City. In one area of the world they're doing this research. In another area of the world, they're doing some other research. In another area of the world, they're doing other research, and it's all going to come together, because Satan is the one who is behind all of this.

The third angel, Revelation 14:9—this has to be before the enforcement of the mark of the beast. I'm sure there will be a lot of voluntary people taking it, but now this has to come before. Revelation 14:9: "And a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, 'If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives the mark in his forehead or in his hand.'" Not only does he commit the sin of another god before the true God and commit the sin of idolatry, receiving the mark then, he then gives up his free will. That's what it's going to come down to.

I know there are going to be some people saying, 'Well, what makes you think that's going to be?' If we are able to have this much information, think of what they haven't told us! Think of what they have on the books.

"'...and receives the mark in his forehead or in his hand, He shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God...'" (vs 9-10). Seven last plagues. Let's see what happens to them, and it's the very first plague.

Revelation 16:2: "And the first angel went and poured out his vial onto the earth; and an evil and grievous sore fell upon the men who had the mark of the beast, and upon those who were worshipping his image."

What that is going to be, I don't know. I do not know. I think it'll make all of them in the same category as Job. Is it going to be boils from head to toe? That's a pretty serious penalty—isn't it? Think about it! This has got to be an absolutely major thing for God to send an angel to proclaim this to the whole world. And this has got to be before the beast goes into the temple and says he's God. They must be warned before the event takes place, not after. If you tell someone after they've robbed a bank and gotten shot, 'Well, you shouldn't have robbed the bank.' Yeah, thanks for the advice.

Revelation 14:10: "'He shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed undiluted in the cup of His wrath; and he shall be tormented in fire and brimstone in the sight of the holy angels, and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends into ages of eternity... [It gets out in outer space and just keeps going.] ...and those who worship the beast and his image, and all who receive the mark of his name, have no rest day and night'" (v 11). That is before they are killed. Once they expire, they're dead.

Now contrast what we just read with v 12: "Here is the patience of the saints; here are the ones who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." Quite a comparison—isn't it? Yes, indeed!

Let's come to Matthew 24:10. I just recently double-checked the translation on this to make sure that this was the right translation, because it is in the passive tense—being. And 'led into error, or sin.' That's why I translated it this way. Matthew 24:10: "And then shall many be led into sin, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another." Do we have that today? Yes, we do! Why? Because their minds are all messed up with

• the way that they have been taught
• the way that they think
• the music that they listen to
• the people that they associate with
• their standards
• their values

Then here's something, too. Once people get into sin, then they have to keep repeating that sin to reinforce in their minds that they're not doing wrong. That happens with drugs, that happens with sex, that happens with even the obscene thing and generally it's with perverted sex and then into serial killing that these things take place, too. It's amazing! There is the

• influence of Satan the devil
• influence of the media
• influence of the music
• influence of your friends

That's how gangs get started. 'Oh, you want to be macho, have a gang. Well, yes. Well, you've got to do this first. Oh, good boy. You stole this or stole that, or whatever. Now if you want to graduate, you got to go kill someone.' Led into sin!

Let's see where all of this activity leads. Let's see how all of these things heighten the works of the flesh. That's why we saw we're not to love the world, the things in the world, or the pride of life, or any of these things, because they're all of the world and everything of the world, when it gets into what we're talking about here, comes from Satan the devil. What we're going to do is we're going to see the works of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness." The very first thing that they get people involved in at as young age as possible are sex sins. And look at all the pedophiles that are around. There will be so many around that they're going to have to do like they've done with other laws, 'Well, we can't enforce all these laws, so why don't we just make it legal?' Just they recently did in the Army. They passed a law in armed services that now, not only same-sex marriage, but bestiality's okay. Once you start deviancy down, it starts at a plateau and then all of a sudden there is a plunge into hell. That's what happened with the Germans. I was reading an article about someone, well they did this and we did nothing. And they did something else and we did nothing. Pretty soon everything was out of hand. I say that may be true, but that's an excuse!

I didn't realize it until I was watching another special on the Third Reich. Guess how many camps they had like Dachau? 20,000! And the Germans said, 'My, we never knew.' I'm sure there were some who didn't. But you can't miss the smell and you can't find the missing people.

Another thing I didn't know. In Germany itself, there were only 700,000 Jews, and half of those were able to emigrate out of the country. So it wasn't just the Jews in Germany, it was the Jews in Poland that they wanted, because that's where millions of them were. And that's why they invaded Poland.

And it started out—benefits. You do this, you have a benefit. You have a job, you have food. Remember, they just came out of hyper-inflation. 20-30% unemployment, near starvation. People who had cattle had to guard their cows day and night, lest someone come and get it and kill their cattle or their cow. It was a desperate situation! So when Hitler came along, brought in a new currency, put everyone to work, took back the war from the French, fired up all the steel mills, began making weapons.

Then sweet Neville Chamberlain, oh, what a wonderful man. He kissed Hitler and gave him Czechoslovakia so there wouldn't be any war. Then the Austrians said, 'Oh, this is so great. We want in on the benefits.' Then they joined. And all the while tightening down, tightening down, tightening down. Raising little kids. You talk about leading people into sin—worshipping Adolph Hitler, the Nazi youth, the armies. Those then became dedicated to evil, like the SS.

Where all of this starts is right here. "...adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, Idolatry witchcraft..." (vs 19-20)—or the occult.

I was just reminded during the break that wondrous Disneyland to help indoctrinate the children has a whole section on Harry Potter and witchcraft. Is it not being done today? Yes, indeed!
"..hatred, strifes, jealousies, indignations, contentions, divisions, sects, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings and such things as these; concerning which I am telling you beforehand, even as I have also said in the past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God" (vs 19-21).

God wants us to develop His character. This is the very reason God has called us, so that

• we keep our choice
• we control our minds
• we are led of the Holy Spirit

He's preparing us to rule in the Kingdom of God. He is doing it the right way.

• You first develop the character, and then you can rule!
• You first learn how to control your mind, and then you're able to make wise judgments!
• You first learn how to think properly!

But notice the fruits of the Spirit. These are all tied to the commandments of God.

Verse 22: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control..." (vs 22-23). How are we to control ourselves?

• using our minds
• by our choices
• being led of the Holy Spirit of God
• having the laws and commandments of God, and the Word of God written in our hearts and our minds

—so that we are able to overcome the evil that's in our minds.

2-Corinthians 10:3: "For although we walk in the flesh..." We are not to be of the world, but we have to live in it. And Jesus' prayer was to protect us from the evil one, Satan the devil.

"For although we walk in the flesh... [We still have human bodies.] ...we do not war according to the flesh…. [We are in a battle for our minds. We are in a battle for our lives.[ …For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the overthrowing of strongholds, Casting down vain imaginations..." (vs 3-5). Isn't that what was spoken of there in Gen. 6? 'The imagination of the hearts of men were only evil continually.' That's what it would be without the Spirit of God.

When those come along; when a thought comes along, BANG! you grab that thought and you cast it down:

•  you ask God to give you strength
• you ask God to help change your mind
• you ask God to help you think on the things that are right

That's the self-control that God wants.

Verse 5: "Casting down vain imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God... [Carnality, self. 'Lovers of pleasure, lovers or money, braggarts, insolent, all of the works of the flesh (2-Tim. 3).] ...and bringing into captivity... [this takes choice, and this takes work, this takes prayer and this takes study.] ...bringing into captivity every thought... [that is a full-time occupation] ...into the obedience of Christ; and having a readiness to avenge all disobedience..." (vs 5-6).

How do you avenge that disobedience? You get the thought out of your mind! It's just like some nonsensical tune circulating around in your brain like some advertisement. It can be:

• a thought of sex
• a thought of lust
• a thought of jealousy
• a thought of bitterness
• a thought of anger

all of those things.

And we're going to see that God wants us to think deductively. That means that we go by the truth and by the facts. The world thinks sometimes deductively. You have to in engineering and building and things like that, but emotionally they think subjectively, and their emotions run first, rather than their thoughts. And you can see this especially in young people if you watch any sporting events in the colleges. You watch the basketball teams and all the students are out there yelling through the whole game. The camera runs up and catches a picture of them and their eyes are all wild. When I see that I think that there's a mind that can know nothing about Jesus.

They're all hyped up on the physical. It's all emotion. They're thinking, 'Rah, rah, my team, gotta win. Yes, I'm for them. I hate the others.' All of those thoughts that are carnal we need to overcome them. What is it? We all have to identify what is the weakest part of our mind, and that is the evil thoughts that bother us. We'll talk about this a little later here and see how we need to overcome them.

Verse 6: "And having a readiness to avenge all disobedience, whenever your obedience has been fulfilled."

Even though we're converted, what do we still have with us? We have the keys to overcome it, but what do we still have with us? The law of sin and death! There's the inner battle. Let's see what the law of sin and death causes us to do. People in the world do not have this battle. They don't have that.

Romans 7 shows we are to obey in newness of Spirit. In oldness of the letter, if you didn't go over and pick something up and steal it, though you wanted to, you haven't sinned. In the Spirit of the Law, if you think of it, you have sinned. If you think of adultery, you have sinned, because all sin starts in the mind! This is how that they want to be able to control, by injecting thoughts, electro-magnetic, coupled with the mark of the beast, to control the population. The people in the world do not have the Holy Spirit to allow them to overcome the law of sin and death. There may be some people who are good and upright people. Many of them are Protestants who are sincere in what they believe. They don't know that they've been deceived. So, they're happy in their little part of doing good, that they know how to do. They can't overcome the law of sin and death. This, as we will see, is a lifelong thing.

Paul says here, Romans 7:7: "What then shall we say? Is the law sin? MAY IT NEVER BE! But I had not known sin, except through the law. Furthermore, I would not have been conscious of lust, except that the law said, 'You shall not covet.' But sin, having grasped an opportunity by the commandment, worked out within me every kind of lust because apart from law, sin was dead" (vs 7-8).

In other words, if you do not have consciousness of the law, you don't even recognize that you are sinning. And Christmas, since we're in the Christmas season, is a very good example of that. 'We're doing good. We're buying a present for everybody. Isn't that wonderful? We lie to our children, but we tell them that's only a white lie. But we give them gifts.'

The sad thing, take advantage of the little kids, take them down to Santa Claus. 'Santa Claus works at the North Pole.' None of the kids say, 'Mommy, what is he doing here in this department store? Why isn't he at the North Pole?' And I love the one with the barbarians. They have this young-looking kid sitting on Santa's lap and he's asking him what he wants. He wants an axe and something like that, and Santa pulls his beard and the little kid says, 'Ouch!' Here's how with humor they're able to get people to like it.

If you don't know the law, you don't know sin! You might understand certain things are wrong, but you don't know the law. Look at all those people that Christmas Eve they're going to go to midnight mass. They're going to think, 'Oh, it's wonderful.' They're probably going to have it on Fox News. They always show the pope on Christmas Eve midnight mass. Wonder why they have it at midnight?

Verse 9: "For I was once alive without law... [If he actually died a physical death, he wouldn't be writing this. This means he was living in the flesh without the true knowledge of law though he was a Pharisee. Can you imagine that?] ...but after the commandment came... [after the commandment came to my consciousness; that's why we need the commandments in our hearts and in our minds] ...sin revived... [he could see the seriousness of sin] ...and I died." How did he die? The death of baptism! Was Paul baptized? Yes! There's no account that he physically died and Christ raised him back to life. So, this is talking about baptism.

Verse 10: "And the commandment, which was meant to result in life, was found to be unto death for me... [He didn't realize the sins that he was doing. Through Judaism he was being led into sin. Just like people in Catholicism are today, they are led into sin. Whatever religion you want. When he really came to the consciousness, or the magnitude of the commandments of God]: ...found to be unto death for me; because sin, having taken opportunity by the commandment... [that's the strength of the law] ...deceived me..." (vs 10-11).

Have you been deceived by sin? Have you done things that are wrong that you thought you could away with, that you thought you would have a benefit in doing? Yes, indeed! All of us have. That's the nature of Satan and the nature of human beings.

"...and by it killed me" (v 11). So he died and he was killed. He understood that he had to die the death of baptism and he realized that the wages of sin is death!

So now he clears up the whole picture here, v 12: "Therefore, the law is indeed Holy, and the commandment Holy and righteous and good." When it defines sin, it doesn't make the commandment wrong. Just like (Alan) Dershowitz said, 'Well, obviously the tenth commandment against covetousness doesn't function in the world today, because that's how Wall Street is run.' Covetousness and greed.

We have a good example of that. Here's one of these—Corzine—who's supposed to be a miracle man and knowing all about financing and he runs MF Global. He's hauled before the Senate and they say, 'Where did the $1.2 billion go?' I don't know! Yet they now have him authorizing $155-million of the clients on-account deposits with them to be used for the transactions of the company.

"…the commandment is Holy and righteous and good. [But what happens when you break it?] …Now then, did that which is good become death to me? MAY IT NEVER BE! But sin, in order that it might truly be exposed as sin in me by that which is good, was working out death... [you now see the goodness of what God has, and you've been going the other direction; he understood that] ...so that, by means of the commandment, sin might become exceedingly sinful" (vs 12-13).

How does sin through the commandment become exceedingly sinful? As Jesus said:

• If you hate your brother, you have committed murder in your mind.
• If you lust after a woman, you have committed adultery in your mind.
• If you want someone else's goods, you have committed covetousness and theft in your mind.
• If you bow down before an idol, you are committing idolatry and rejecting the true God.

All of those things start in the mind! So then, he says, that's how it becomes exceedingly sinful. Otherwise people think it's a good thing.

Here's what he learned by that, which is this: He did not realize that the law was not just something written on tablets of stone that you can just read, walk away and leave. They're spiritual. They're like the laws of gravity, they work all the time.

Verse 14: "For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, having been sold as a slave under sin; because what I am working out myself... [That is what I do by my own self.] ...I do not know…. [understand; have you ever done something and say, 'Why did I do that?'] …For what I do not desire to do, this I do..." (vs 14-15).

To give you a good illustration: I've done this about three times in my lifetime. I'm nailing something and I'm hammering. I tell myself, don't get your thumb in the way. BANG! I hit my thumb! Did I want to do it? No, I told myself don't do it! But did I do it? Yes, I did it! It's the same way with anger. You don't want to get mad, but when you're provoked, boy, you've got to let off steam.

• How do you feel afterwards? Rotten, miserable!
• Have other people been affected? Yes!
• Have feelings been hurt? Yes!
• Has division been accomplished? Yes!
• Have walls been built? Yes!

'But I didn't want to do it.' That's what Paul is finding out.

"…For what I do not desire to do, this I do; moreover, what I hate, this is what I do. But if I am doing what I do not desire to do, I agree with the law that it is good?" (vs 15-16). Your sinning doesn't make the law bad. Your sinning exemplifies the righteousness or goodness of the law, because look at the results of sin. And look at the results of the lack of control.

Verse 17: "So then, I am no longer working it out myself; rather, it is sin that is dwelling within me." And this is the key: People in the world have the law of sin and death in them with no means of controlling it spiritually, because they don't have the Spirit of God! That's why self-control is one of the fruits of the Spirit, because you need the Spirit of God to really be self-controlled.

Without the Spirit of God, you can be disciplined for a while, but sooner or later something's going to happen. All the Republicans are looking at Newt Gingrich and saying, 'Yeah, he's got all these ideas, he's all good, but, boy, you don't know when he's going to pop off with something you don't even expect.' "…sin that is dwelling within me."

With the Holy Spirit of God we can overcome that by bringing every thought into captivity; by making the right choices. Here's what we need to understand, v 18: "Because I fully understand that there is not dwelling within me—that is, within my fleshly being—any good…." As long as there's sin there, whatever good you would do is negated by the sin that is there.

This becomes important: To receive the kind of forgiveness of sin, it can only come from God. God is

• perfect
• righteous
• forgiving
• understands

When you have your sins forgiven by Him, they are wiped away. When we deal with each other, and we forgive each other, even when we forgive we still have reservations that we have to overcome—don't we? Yes, we do! That's why it's so fantastic what God does. As long as you have sin within you, you cannot do absolutely perfect good. That's why there's the resurrection.

"…For the desire to do good is present within me... [I meant to do good.] ...but how to work out that which is good, I do not find.... [Something went wrong. Yes, indeed!] ...For the good that I desire to do, I am not doing; but the evil that I do not desire to do, this I am doing…. [then he breaks it down into something that we can understand] …But if I do what I do not desire to do, I am no longer working it out myself, but sin that is dwelling within me" (vs 18-20). This is why we have to

• bring every thought into captivity
• take every vain imagination and cast it down
• bring it into captivity to the obedience of Christ

This is why we have the Holy Spirit. This helps us to do this.

The world does not have this. If they're very disciplined, they can accomplish certain things. Yes, they can quit drinking. Yes, they can quit taking drugs. Yes, if they've had enough problems in marriages before, yes, they can be faithful in the marriage that they're in now—different things like that. But it never gets rid of the sin that is within,  and it never cleanses the mind with the washing of the water by the Word.

Verse 21: "Consequently, I find this law in my members... [I find it, too. You find it, too.] ...that when I desire to do good, evil is present with me." In other words, you're trying to do something good. Right in the middle of doing something good—BING!—here comes an evil thought. I'm sure you've had that happen to you. I've had it happen to me.

Here's how you overcome it, v 22: "For I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man; But I see another law within my own members, warring against the law of my mind... [the law of your mind is the spirit of man and the Spirit of God and the laws of God, but the law of sin is there] ...and leading me captive to the law of sin that is within my own members…" (vs 22-23).

That's why we need the resurrection! That's why God has His own transhumanism program, so that we can become like God! In this life, we'll never be perfect. We can be counted righteous. We can be reckoned in right standing with God. But, of and by our own nature, because we carry the law of sin and death within us, we cannot be righteous like God, because you must be a spirit being to do that. You all understand that? If not, you'll learn this coming week.

Verse 24: "O what a wretched man I am!... [compared to God] ...Who shall save me from the body of this death?.... [this is why there's salvation] ...I thank God for His salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of this, on the one hand, I myself serve the law of God with my mind; but on the other hand, with the flesh, I serve the law of sin" (vs 24-25).

That is not all the time, but it will vary in circumstances and in attitude from time to time. There are some times you go along, you haven't done anything really bad for a long time, and then, BANG! something happens and nothing goes right. You ever had a day like that? Yes, especially if you lose your temper. Nothing goes right and you try and make it good. No one's willing to listen to you because you lost it.

The salvation is through Christ!
