Instruction, warning, correction, repentance forgiveness and reinstatement
is all based on our choices!

Greetings, everyone! Welcome to Sabbath services!
In watching the news, and looking at the weather and everything else that's going on, for about the last month Delores has been making the statement that God must be angry with us as a nation, and that is probably very, very true!
So, let's see how God operates, and see that God has a way that is consistent from Genesis to Revelation. Keep 2-Tim. 1 in mind whenever you're asking a question and wondering what God is doing. Sometimes what we figure God should or should not do is not what He does! He looks at it in a much broader way and long term. Here's why:
2-Timothy 1:8: "Therefore, you should not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner…"
- Why would God have Paul in prison?
- Wouldn't it better to have him out preaching and around? Well, he never quit preaching!
Remember in the book of Acts when Paul got to Rome:
- How long did it take him to get the Jewish leaders there? Three days!
The third day that Paul had them there he didn't stop. They all came there and said, 'Paul, you're wasting your time, Peter's been here for 20 years.' NO! They said, 'We haven't heard anything about it except the sect is spoken against everywhere!'
"…but jointly suffer with me for the sake of the Gospel, according to the power of God, Who has saved us and called us…" (vs 8-9).
Remember: we are the called, chosen and faithful! That's the only way you're going to get into the Kingdom of God! You can't be called and chosen, but not faithful! Faithful means, we'll find out:
- Why is God angry with this nation?
- Why is God angry with the Church?
I got this invitation to come back to the campus grounds at Ambassador College and they're going to rent out the Student Center and we're going to have a reunion, July 27. I got that and said, 'I wonder if I should go?'
I was thinking about it and talking to Byron Norrod and asked him what he thought. He sent me and e-mail and said that he had met a lot of them and there was one man who was a minister who had a gold chain and big gold cross. So, I figured that I wasn't going.
Some ministers, when they switched to Sunday-keeping, and then retired, went to the nearest church: Presbyterian, Baptist, etc. They had been called, chosen, but they are not faithful! Think about that!
"…with a Holy calling—not according to our works…" (v 9)—because no man is going to tell God what to do!
If there is any one work that the Protestants rely on all of the time for their salvation is Sunday-keeping.
"…but according to His own purpose and grace… [because we need that connection with God, and we will see how that fits into how He operates] …which was given us in Christ Jesus before the ages of time" (v 9).
- God has a greater plan
- God has a bigger plan
Far more than we've ever understood!
We're going to be coming to Day 49 and Day 50 next week. Let's just preview it a little bit this way: Don't you think that taking over the entire world is the biggest task ever from the creation of the world? We're going to take over the whole world, and that's why there's a resurrection!
Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday… [because He was the Lord God of the Old Testament] …and today… [every day] …and forever."
So, the way that God deals with us is the same way that He has dealt with all of mankind. But those who are faithful will be in the first resurrection.
Update: Seeing all that weather on the news, I sent an e-mail to Lawrence Burchfield (Tulsa, OK) and to Bill Wax (Kansas and over into Arkansas), and to Marlin Fannin (Ohio) and asked about how the brethren were doing and were any of them affected. No, they all sound and good!
So, even in spite of all the troubles, God is able to protect and be with His people. The same yesterday, today and forever! Then He says in Malachi, 'I, the Lord, change not!'
Let's go back to the beginning and refer to some verses. Since Christ was 'slain from the foundation of the world,' God had everything planned out. Think about this: If Adam and Eve had not sinned, would their children have sinned? Cain did! So, there has to be a way to overcome sin. God has given free moral agency to everyone; we've nicknamed it IFMA: independent free moral agency!
We have to choose. Think about it, everything you do is a choice! Think about that when you wake up in the morning. What the first thing you have do?
- all the necessary things to take care of the food you ate the day before
- then the men choose to shave or not shave
- women do their hair
- you get dressed
I love this, Delores has a nice big closet and she opens it up and says, 'I don't have a thing to wear.'
So, God created man, and here's what God always does:
- instruction
He always tells us what to do, but we must choose to do it.
- warning
If you have free moral agency, you can choose right or wrong. You can made no choice, but no choice is a choice!
- correction
You'll see that this follows all the way through the Bible. How does God give correction? Many different ways!
- repentance
- forgiveness
If there is no repentance, there is no forgiveness! This is repeated and repeated and repeated.
Stop and think about it in the model prayer. What do you do? First off you honor God! Honor His name, praise Him for what He's created. You thank Him and all of those sort of things. Then the next thing you say is Your will be done!
Since it's a model prayer and not a prayer, that's for us. What is God's will for us to do? Love Him and keep His commandments! That's a basic outline there, to obey His voice! Follows all the way through.
So, He created man first. We're not told exactly when Eve was created. But He put the man in the garden and said, 'Dress it and keep it.' What are those? Instruction! To keep it means to guard it!
Then God caused all the animals and everything to come by, and of course, Adam had a language created right in him so He could communicate with God, and God could communicate with him.
Whatever Adam named them that became their name. What was the lesson for Adam? Everything came by male and female, male and female, male and female! The lesson was that God hadn't made Adam's wife, yet.
Then God created Eve. How long that was we don't know. We have no idea! It may have been within the first few days or within the first week, who knows. But you go back just a little bit, what was the first thing that God brought to Adam's attention after he was created? The very first thing? The Sabbath! That's the whole key thing to God! We'll see that all the way through. Even in the warnings and corrections. The Sabbath!
Then God brought Eve to Adam and married them. We find that right here. Adam understood the whole process. God probably said to Adam, 'I'm going to make you go to sleep, you're going to have a deep sleep. I'm going to take one of your ribs; don't worry it will grow back.'
The question always comes up: Why are men not born with one less rib, because God took a rib from Adam? Because taking the rib did not affect the inheritance genes. That's the answer. Just like a person who has their legs cut off can have children with legs.
Genesis 2:23: "And Adam said… [this shows that Adam knew] …'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.' For this reason…" (vs 23-24).
God had to explain a lot of things to both of them in order for this verse to make any sense at all.
Verse 24: "For this reason shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife—and they shall become one flesh."
As I mentioned recently, that is unique, because your children are the one flesh of the husband and the wife. How that works is because all the genes and chromosomes you have are 46. but in the inheritance part of it, you both produce 23 each. That's unique, isn't it? Stop and think about that for a minute. How could that happen by evolution? Couldn't! Impossible!
Verse 25: "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed."
How long were they in the garden before God let the serpent in? I don't think it was the next day! It doesn't say!
Let's understand something else: How did God appear to Adam and Eve? He's a spirit being, He couldn't appear the them in His glory, but He appeared as a man! So, Adam and Eve looking at Him, they're not very far from Him.
Psa. 8—'What is man that y ou are mindful of him? You created him a little lower than God.' What kind of intelligence did Adam and Eve have? Probably the best in the world, because God put everything in them that they needed, and gave them a language!
So, when the serpent was let into the garden, the first thing Adam should have done was gotten rid of him. But he didn't! So, there must have been, whatever length of time there was, for Adam and Eve to become acclimatized to seeing God, meeting God, talking with Him and so forth before the serpent was let in.
It's just like when God calls you, and you repent and are baptized, generally speaking you're not slammed with a trial immediately. In some cases it could happen. But generally not. Why? Because you need to be spiritually equipped to handle it, so you need time to grow in grace and knowledge!
Adam and Eve had to have some time to grow in grace and knowledge before the serpent was brought in. I don't know how much God instructed them, but when the correction came, what was it that He told Adam? Adam was the one who sinned, and Eve transgressed being deceived, that's less!
Adam knew better, and that's how sin came in to the world and was passed on to all human beings. What did He say to Adam? The reason that He brought it? 'Because you listened to the voice of your wife, to something that wasn't good! You didn't obey My voice!'
So, the first thing we have right here. Obviously, the wages of sin is death, but if God would have executed the death penalty on them right there there'd be none of us. So, there had to be some type of forgiveness along with correction. This is probably why we have the two goats that were sacrificed, obviously by God, and He made clothes for them to wear.
Isn't that something! What is used on the Day of Atonement? Two identical goats! One for the Lord and one for Azazel! Were there no animals in the Garden of Eden? Probably a lot of them! Birds! Who knows what was in the Garden of Eden! There you have it, and this pattern:
- instruction
- warning
- correction
- repentance
- forgiveness
is repeated, and all of this is based on our choices!
Let's come to another section of the Bible, Lev. 26 and see how all of this is incorporated in this chapter. Based upon choice, IF is always there.
Leviticus 26:1: "You shall make no idols to yourselves; and you shall not set up for yourselves graven images, or a standing pillar. And you shall not set up any image of stone in your land in order to bow down to it, for I am the LORD your God. You shall keep My Sabbaths…" (vs 1-2). Very similar to the pattern in Genesis!
"…and reverence My sanctuary…. [because He had just had them make the tabernacle] …I am the LORD…. [then God brings out the choice]: …If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and do them…. [It's a very interesting thing, keep and do!] …then I will give you rain in due season…" (vs 2-4).
Do we have rain in due season today? No! Here we are in June and its still winter!I think we've only had two days of 75 degrees or over all year. Look what it is back in the Midwest, hundreds and hundreds of tornadoes and rain! It's still being fueled because that west wind coming off the Pacific Ocean is cold and it's driving the cold air east. And all that hot moist air is coming up from the Gulf, and it's really creating a pattern down there.
- Who controls the weather? God does!
- Do God use the weather to bring correction?
- What happens when people have disasters and problems? They turn to God!
If they don't turn to God, woe be for the next round!
"…and the land shall yield her increase…" (v 4).
I can tell you that if it doesn't warm up and dry out, and if we do not have an Indian summer, we're going to have short crops and food prices going up, because of all the people that we now have. You're not going to be able to get along with a short supply of food.
"…and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time. And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land safely" (vs 4-5).
Deut. 8—This is quite a chapter. Same pattern; notice the same pattern again.
Deuteronomy 8:1: "All the commandments which I command you this day shall you be diligent to observe and to do that you may live and multiply and go in and possess the land, which the LORD swore to your fathers. And you shall remember…" (vs 1-2).
All the mistakes that we learn, we are to remember the lesson. So, whatever the problem that you may have had, or whatever it is that comes along as correction, remember the lesson and you can overcome the difficulty of the correction.
Verse 2: "And you shall remember all the way, which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness in order to humble you, to prove you, to know what is in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not."
That's constant all the way through. That's the purpose of correction. What is the easiest correction that you can have? You correct yourself with the Word and Spirit of God! Then God doesn't have to correct you.Isn't that simple? If you don't, there's going to be some correction come along, and you're going to get a little mad at God. But He's going to say, 'Why didn't you correct yourself?' That's what's in His Word!
Verse 3: "And He humbled you and allowed you to hunger, and then He fed you with manna…" Their perpetual diet was manna: boiled, fried, donuts. I think the manna donuts would have been the best.
"…which you did not know, neither did your fathers know it, so that He might make you know…" (v 3). This goes right to the New Testament, right here this verse: Matt. 4:4 and Luke 4:4.
"…that man does not live by bread alone; but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live…. [now another blessing]: Your clothing did not wear out on you…" (3-4).
How about that? Clothing for 40 years not wearing out! Handed down as the kids would grow up.
"…nor did your foot swell these forty years. And you shall consider in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you" (vs 4-5). Correction! Instruction, instruction, correction, warning!
Verse 6: "And you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God to walk in His ways and to fear Him, for the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills, a land of wheat and barley and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey" (vs 6-8).
I can imagine that after Moses explaining all of this that God is going to bring to them, when they're just about ready to go into the land, and they've been on this manna all this time. 'I wonder what bread is going to taste like; pomegranates, honey, all of those things!'
Verse 9: "A land in which you shall eat bread without scarceness…."
With all that's going on, is that going to start coming less and less?
"…You shall not lack any thing in it. It is a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig copper…. [and oil, brass, iron, etc.] (warning): When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land, which He has given you" (vs 9-10).
What did Abraham Lincoln say of America after the Civil War to try and heal it? God has given us the choicest land in the world! Described just like this.
Look what we've done to it! Look at the cities we have! Wrong rulership! That's why we're being trained to be kings and priests, because we're going to rule under Christ. That's why we're here.
Verse 10: "When you have eaten and are full…" What happens when that occurs? Complacency sets in! So, here's the warning: you correct yourself! Don't let it set in!
"…then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land, which He has given you. Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, and His judgments, and His statutes, which I command you today" (vs 10-11).
What is the one commandment that everyone has forgotten? even those who have been in the Church for years? The Sabbath commandment, the very first one that God revealed to Adam! God says, 'I change not! I'm the same yesterday, today and forever!'
- What do you think about the Sabbath?
- What did Jesus say in Matt. 24? Even amidst the terrible times, don't flee on the Sabbath!
- Why? Because 'I will protect you on the Sabbath if you're honoring Me!'
That's what God shows in the rest of it!
Verse 12: "Lest when you have eaten and are full… [think about today] …and have built goodly houses and lived in them."
Even the poor have television, cell phones, regular phones, electricity, supermarkets, food assistance, rent assistance. Even the stranger in the land has been given—as a penalty against us—our tax money to support them because we have turned our backs on God!
Verse 13: "And when your herds and your flocks multiply…"
What happened with all the flooding? Seed was lost, thousands of livestock were lost! All of those are correcting factors to us as a nation.
"…and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied, then you become haughty of heart…" (vs 13-14).
- Doesn't that describe the 'millennials'?
- Doesn't that describe what you saw on the news this week?
Disneyland—whose audience is children—and as we covered recently—teaching them witchcraft; they don't' teach them about God. So, the head of Disneyland tells the state of Georgia—where they do a lot of production—that if they passed the law that limits abortion; if there's a heartbeat there's no abortion, 'we're pulling everything out of here.' Nothing like a little evil blackmail!
Is that not haughty? They're killing the audience whom they want to serve, but they're not serving the audience in the way that they ought to. The last good movie about God was Cecile B. DeMille's The Ten Commandments! That's so good that it's played every year!
When you study the Bible, remember these points: instruction, warning, correction, repentance forgiveness, and you can put in thereafter that!
Leviticus 26:6: "And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down and none shall make you afraid…."
What do we have today? Alarms, locks everywhere!
I did some Church at Home on how would you like to live in Perfectville?—Part 5 of Come Out of Her My People. Where they all keep the Ten Commandments of God, because those are good for us.
- you have the right God
- no statues
- no idols
- everything about God is taught in truth
- you keep the Sabbath Day
- children are obedient
- no murder
- no adultery
- no stealing
- no lying
- no coveting
- no locks on the doors
Everybody watches out for everybody else and loves everybody else. That's what they want, but they don't want to do it God's way!
Here's what else God would do; "…And I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land; neither shall the sword go through your land. And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight. And your enemies shall fall by the sword in front of you" (vs 6-8). Showing that they had to go to war!
What do we have today with the immigration flood that we have? Most of them are military age young men! I wonder what for?
Verse 9: "For I will have respect to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish My covenant with you. And you shall eat of the old provision, and clear away the old because of the new. And I will set My tabernacle among you…. [we say 'In God we trust' and 'God bless America'] …And My soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people" (vs 9-12). Look what we have done!
Many people don't like Donald Trump, but he's the only thing standing between us and the destruction of this nation right now! The only reason that is, is because there may be enough people going against the second greatest crime, which is abortion! The Sabbath is the first! Abortion is #2! We'll see where it goes!
Verse 13: "I am the LORD your God Who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt from being their bondmen. And I have broken the bonds of your yoke, and made you go upright."
Think of how God has blessed this nation with everything!
Verse 14—warning and choice: "But if you will not hearken to Me and will not do all these commandments, and if you shall despise My statutes, or if your soul hates My judgments, so that you will not do all My commandments, so that you break My covenant; I will also do this to you…" (vs 14-16).
It's automatic! When God created the laws, He created automatic blessings and the automatic penalties. Just like if you forget to open the door and you walk into it, you're going to bruise your nose! That's automatic. Same way with God's Laws. You break His commandments, it's automatic! You don't keep the Sabbath, you're cut off from God! God is seeking those who are seeking Him, and on the Sabbath Day is the day that's most important to Him for His people. Those who have the Word of God are to be instructing the people of God, and the people of the nation, what to do so they can be in right standing with God!
No! We have crime, sin, murder, drugs, and all of these thing going on. And we expect everything to be lovely and perfect and no trouble? Never happen!
"…I will even appoint over you terror… [we have that] …consumption, and burning fever, consuming the eyes and causing sorrow of heart…." (v 16). Don't we have that? There's a lot of sorrow of heart, especially among some of the veterans! How many are committing suicide every day? Can you imagine that?
Those veterans came back from Vietnam, and those hateful people spit on them and cursed them, because they listened to the voice of the enemy.
"…And you shall sow your seed in vain…" (v 16). Maybe this year it's going to be that way!
- How are they going to sow?
- How dry will the land get?
- Will there be any more rain?
- If the crop doesn't come in, where are you going to get your seed for next year?
"…for your enemies shall eat it…. [that's happening] …And I will set My face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies. They that hate you shall reign over you. And you shall flee when none pursues you" (vs 16-17).
- Isn't that true?
- Did we have a previous President that hated us?
- Do we have people in Congress who hate the American people?
- agents of the enemy?
- agents of sin?
- agents of Satan the devil?
Yes, we do!
- Why?
Because all of these sanctimonious Sunday-keepers:
- refuse to the keep the Sabbath
- refuse to teach the Word of God
- refuse to come against all the sins that are being committed in an everyday way
So there's nothing left to do but harsh correction! Or repentance!

Isn't that a fantastic way of publishing it and hiding it?
I'll let you finish reading Lev. 26; it gets more desperate. Then read Deut. 28. I think I have all of Deut. 28 on Church at Home. Isa. 1 has the very same pattern!
- instruction
- warning
- correction
- repentance
- forgiveness
- reinstatement
The book of Isaiah is 600 years after they went into the 'promised land.' Here's another interesting little study you might want to do: Look at how many times God uses the heavens and the earth to verify His Word. That's quite a thing to understand. Most people don't believe that the Word of God is the Word of God. Yet, they're standing on the earth and looking at the heavens that God has made and says, 'This is My Word.'
Isaiah 1:2: "Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for the LORD has spoken, 'I have reared and brought up children, but they have rebelled against Me.'" That's exactly what's going on today!
Look at this society. As I've said many times on Church at Home, get the Ten Commandments and hold them in one hand, and watch the news and look at the Ten Commandments and see what is happening. The whole news is about broken Ten Commandments all the way through, whether individually, community or nationally.
So, God says that you're dumber than a cow, v 3: "'The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master's crib; but Israel does not know Me; My people do not understand.' [Isaiah says]: Ah, sinful nation, a people burdened with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the LORD; they have provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger; they have gone away backward" (vs 3-4).
God is saying, 'Look at all your mess! Look at all the difficulties that you're going through! Why do you want anymore of it!
Verse 5: "Why should you be stricken any more? You will revolt more and more; the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even to the top of the head there is no soundness in it; only wounds and bruises and putrefying sores…" (vs 5-6).
If that doesn't describe the cities of Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Boston, all the big cities in America. Look at acres and acres and avenues of homeless, drugs and disease is about ready to breakout from all of those unsanitary conditions. You can watch it on the news, needles and human dung!
"…they have not been closed, nor bound up, nor soothed with ointment. Your country is a desolation…" (vs 6-7)—and coming to it more and more! It doesn't happen all at once.
"…your cities are burned with fire…." (v 7). We read this in 1969 up in Boise. Six to ten cities were burning. Back then we thought that 1972 we would be fleeing to Petra. Just around the corner. Look at us now.
- How tolerant is God?
- How understanding is God?
"…Strangers devour your land right in your very presence… [more and more] …and it is wasted, as overthrown by strangers. And the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard, like a hut in a garden of cucumbers… [all crawled over with vines] …like a besieged city" (vs 7-8).
Why hasn't God given the final correction?
Verse 9: "Except the LORD of hosts had left us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sodom; we would have become like Gomorrah." That small remnant are the people of God!
We will see in a little bit that one man can make a difference! {note sermons: One Man Can Make a Difference and One Person Can Make a Difference (truthofGod.org)}
Verse 10: "Hear the Word of the LORD, rulers of Sodom; give ear to the Law of our God, people of Gomorrah." That could not fit the whole political scene more than ever before!
Verse 11—God says: "'To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?' says the LORD.…"
They would go the temple and depend on the sacrifices rather than repent and depend on their attitude toward God being right.
"…'I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of he-goats. When you come to appear before Me, who has required this at your hand, to trample My courts?'" (vs 11-12). Why do you come to Me on Sunday, a day I never sanctified?
Verse 13: "Bring no more vain sacrifices; incense is an abomination to Me—new moon and sabbath… [that's their calendar, their Sabbath, which is Sunday] …the calling of assemblies—I cannot endure iniquity along with the solemn assembly! Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates… [look at what they have to do to change] …they are a trouble to Me; I am weary to bear them." (vs 13-14)—because you put My name all over them!
Verse 15: "And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean… [we have there correction and instruction] …put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes; cease to do evil" (vs 15-16).
Notice what you have to do when you quit sinning. You just don't quit, but:
Verse 17: "'Learn to do good; seek judgment, reprove the oppressor. Judge the orphan; plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together,' says the LORD…. [repentance, forgiveness and reinstatement] …'Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. If… [choice] …you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if… [God always sets a choice; we have to choose] …you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword'; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it." (vs 17-20).
You can't get any closer to God and His Word than that!
This is the 10 tribes of Israel here in Hosea 4 and a complete indictment of the children of Israel. We've covered this many times in the past, but repetition is necessary to drive the point home.
Hosea 4:1: "Hear the Word of the LORD…" Remember what Jesus said many times, 'The one who has an ear let him hear!' What is that? A choice!
"…children of Israel, for the LORD has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, 'There is no truth…'" (v 1).
Think about that for a minute. Look at nearly everything on television—few exceptions—in movies, in fake documentaries are:
"…swearing, and lying… [and no truth] …and killing, and stealing, and the committing of adultery they break out; and blood touches blood. Therefore, shall the land mourn… [that's what's happening right now] …and everyone who dwells in it shall languish, with the beasts of the field and with the birds of the heavens. Yes, the fish of the sea shall also be taken away" (vs 1-3).
Verse 6: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…. [of God; they have it in their houses, it's in the Bible] …Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being as a priest to Me. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I will also forget your children." That's exactly what has happened!
You read the rest of it; there's a whole lot more!
Hosea 5:1: "Hear this, O priests… [all the religious leaders] …and hearken, O house of Israel. And give ear, O house of the king, for judgment is toward you because you have been a snare for Mizpah and a net spread over Tabor. And revolters have gone deep in slaughtering, and I chasten all of them. I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me, for now, O Ephraim, you committed whoredom; and Israel is defiled. Their doings will not allow them to turn to their God; for the spirit of whoredoms is in their midst, and they have not known the LORD" (vs 1-4).
Amos 4:4: "Come to Bethel and transgress…"
- What was at Bethel? The golden calf!
- What was at Dan? The golden calf!
- Why? They had a golden calf in the north and one in the south!
We want to make it easy for you, you don't have to travel to Jerusalem to go to the Feast there. Furthermore, you don't have to go in the seventh month, you can come to ours in the eighth month, because we have a better feast.
Verse 5: "And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving from that which is leavened, and cry out; call out the voluntary offerings, for so you love to do, O children of Israel!' says the Lord GOD. 'And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities… [it's going to happen] …and lack of bread in all your places, [#1]yet, you have not returned to Me,' says the LORD." (vs 5-6). In this one chapter it says that five times!
- Verse 8: "'…[#2]yet, you have not returned to Me,' says the LORD.
- Verse 9: "'…[#3]yet, you have not returned to Me,' says the LORD.
- Verse 10: "'…[#4]yet, you have not returned to Me,' says the LORD.
- Verse 11: "'…[#5]yet, you have not returned to Me,' says the LORD.
Verse 12: "Therefore, I will do this to you, O Israel; and because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, O Israel!"
- When do you suppose that's going to hit the biggest? Rev. 7; the 144,000!
- Are they going to meet God? Yes, indeed!
God says that there's a way out; Amos 5:4: "For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel, [#1]Seek Me, and you shall live.'" That's what God wants!
Verse 5: "But do not seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and do not pass to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing. [#2]Seek the LORD and you shall live…" (vs 5-6).
Verse 8: "[#3]Seek Him Who created the Pleiades and Orion, and Who turned the deep darkness into the morning, and Him Who darkened the day into night. [#4]Seek Him Who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the face of the earth—the LORD is His name."
Verse 14: [#5]Seek good and not evil, that you may live…"
Jeremiah had quite a mission, and he was very young when he started. He had to be young, because he witnessed against the Jews for 40 years. So, if he was 18 when he started, that means he was 58 by the time everything went into captivity. Then he had the daughters of the king.
- Why the daughters of the king?
- Why would Jeremiah have them?
- What happened to the sons of the king? They were all killed!
So, if there was not a way to restore the throne, the promise that God made to David would have been null and void. God said that David would never lack a man to sit on the throne. Well, they gouged out the eyes of Zedekiah. So, he was still living in Babylon, but his sons were dead. So, Jeremiah had the daughters of the king who went down to Egypt. God said to go with them even though He said to the Jews not to go there.
But He had Jeremiah go with them. Why? What was in Egypt? The great port of ships going wherever in the world! How do you think that Jeremiah got the daughters to the descendants of Zarah in Ireland.
Sidebar on that: To Judah were born Perez and Zarah—twins. Zarah stuck his hand out to be born first and the midwife put a red thread around his wrist, and he pulled his hand back in. Perez was then born first. That was called 'a breach in the line.' It should have gone to Zarah, because he should have been firstborn.
So, with the Jews going into captivity and Zedekiah in Babylon, now God was going to heal the breach and keep His promise to David that there would always someone sitting on the his throne.
So, there was marriage in Ireland, and the princes married a descendant of the line of Zarah, which comes down to the line of the kings of England today. Still there! God's Word is true!
Jeremiah 1:16—God says: "And I will pronounce My judgments against them regarding all their wickedness in that they have forsaken Me…"
Verse 17: "You, therefore, must gird up your loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command you…."
- Where did you hear that before?
- Where did you read that before?
- What did Jesus say? I speak all the words that the Father commanded me to speak!
"'…Do not be dismayed at their faces, lest I confound you before them. For, behold, I have made you a fortified city this day, and an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its rulers, against its priests, and against the people of the land. And they shall fight against you; but they shall not overcome you. For I am with you,' says the LORD, 'to deliver you.'" (vs 17-19).
The time Jeremiah got close to thinking maybe that's not quite true was when he was in the sewer.
Sidebar: I mentioned the other day about two or three meeting together. What if you are alone? How can there be two or three with you? There would actually be you and two others! You have the Holy Spirit of God—the Spirit of the Father and the Spirit of Christ—and that makes you, the Father and the Son. How many is that? Three! So, God is able to be there with you and comfort you and help you.
Read the whole book of Jeremiah, it is something else! Let's apply this to America today:
Jeremiah 2:1: "And the Word of the LORD came to me, saying, 'Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, "Thus says the LORD, 'I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your betrothals, when you went after Me in the wilderness, in a land not sown'" (vs 1-2).
Think of this as the end-time fulfillment of America today, as Manasseh with all the other 12 tribes included as well. Think of that!
Verse 3: "'Israel was Holiness to the LORD…'"
What was the first thing done in 1520 when they had the first settlement in Virginia? The got off the ship, they went on the land and took a cross—that's the only thing they knew—and they dedicated the land and all prayed that from this new land would flow the Gospel to the world!
Guess what? This is the only country in the world from which the Gospel is preached!
Verse 4: "Hear the Word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel. Thus says the LORD, 'What injustice have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me and have walked after vanity, and have become vain?'" (vs 4-5). That sure describes us today!
Verse 6: "Nor did they say, 'Where is the LORD Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, Who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of dry places, and of deep darkness, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man lived?' And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat its fruit and its goodness; but when you entered, you defiled My land and made My inheritance an abomination. The priests did not say, 'Where is the LORD?" And they who handle the Law did not know Me…" (vs 6-8).
- Isn't that true?
- How many Sunday preachers have the Law and they don't know God?
When I did the survey of Sunday preachers, I spent quite a few agonizing months watching TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) and they all preach the same stupid thing over and over again. None of them talk about the Sabbath! None of them talk about the Law of God! They talk about sin, but they don't tell them what sin is.
Here's another Bible study for you: Look up in your concordance how many times the word return is used.
Jeremiah 3:22: "'Return, O backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings.' 'Behold, we come to You; for You are the LORD our God. Truly, in vain is salvation hoped for from the high hills, from the multitude of mountains. Truly, in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel. The shameful thing has eaten up the labor of our fathers from our youth… [sin against God] …flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters. We lie down in our shame…" (vs 22-25). That's coming!
Back in the Midwest where it's all flooded, think of the shame that those people have burying hundreds and hundreds of cattle, sheep and even hogs.
Sidebar: Have you heard about the swine flu in China.? 147 million hogs killed! They have the greatest number of hogs in the world.
Jeremiah 4:1: "'If you will return, O Israel,' says the LORD, 'Return to Me….'"
Remember when 9/11 happened. The first two months after that everyone went to churches and synagogues. They didn't return to God, they only came back to a building! God wasn't there!
"'…And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight, then you shall not be removed'" (v 1). He's telling us that we're going into captivity; but you don't' have to, but you've got work to do.
Verse 2: "'And will swear, "As the LORD lives," in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; then the nations shall bless themselves in Him, and in Him they shall glory.' For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem, 'Break up your fallow ground, and do not sow among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD…'" (vs 2-4).
That is repentance, circumcision of the heart comes with repentance! We have all these principles again, all the way through.
"…and take away the foreskins of your heart, men of Judah and people of Jerusalem; lest My fury come forth like fire, and burn so that none can put it out; because of the evil of your doings.'
Jeremiah 5:1—God told Jeremiah: "Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in her open places, if you can find a man…"
Jerusalem was the capital of Israel. Try that in Washington, D.C.] …if there is one who does justice, who seeks the Truth; and I will pardon her…." (v 1).
Think about what man can do; that's why I said you need to reconsider what's happening with the President. He's the only one holding back the tide. Could you go through everything that he's gone through? It's like he said, that every cell of his whole body is examined by all those evil people. Why do we have all those evil people? Because the population is given to evil!
Verse 2: "'And though they say, "As the LORD lives"; surely they swear falsely.' [Jeremiah says]: O LORD, are not Your eyes on the Truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved; You have destroyed them, but they have refused to receive correction; they have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to return" (vs 2-3).
That's why God told Jeremiah that He was going to make him so strong, because he was up against it.
Verse 7—God says: "'How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me… [Isn't that true?] …and have sworn by them that are not gods….'"
What's the greatest god that most of them have today? Their smart phone so they can have social media, and be hypnotized by the stupidity of it!
"'…When I had fed them to the full, then they committed adultery… [taught beginning in kindergarten] …and gathered themselves by troops in a harlot's house. They were like lusty, well-fed stallions in the morning; every one neighing after his neighbor's wife. Shall I not punish for these things?' says the LORD. 'And shall not My soul be avenged on such a nation as this? Go up upon her walls and destroy; but do not make a full end; take away her branches, for they are not the LORD'S'" (vs 7-10).
Jeremiah 6:10: "To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear?…." Isn't that true? Who is giving a warning? Some are! There are some out there trying!
"…Behold, their ears are not circumcised, and they cannot hearken. Behold, the Word of the LORD is to them a reproach; they have no delight in it. Therefore, I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in; pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assembly of young men together. For even the husband with the wife shall be taken as well as the aged with fullness of days'" (vs 10-11)—going to turn the house over to others!
Guess what one of the things that is happening? You've heard of reverse mortgages? That might work in some cases, but you have to ask: where is the money coming from? Most of it from the Chinese through American banks! Who possesses the house after you die? The stranger!
Verse 13: "'For everyone from the least of them even to the greatest of them is greedy for gain; and from the prophet even unto the priest everyone deals falsely. They have also healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, saying, 'Peace, peace,' when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No…" (vs 13-15).
Look! We have one man—who should be a woman—running for President, supposedly married to another man! How many children are they going to have? Running for President!!!! That shows how absolutely Sodom and Gomorrahish this nation is!
"'…they were not at all ashamed, nor could they blush; therefore, they shall fall among those who fall. At the time that I punish them, they shall be cast down,' says the LORD. 'Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths…'" (vs 15-16). God is telling them to get their Bible and read it!
"'…where the good way is and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, "We will not walk in it."…. [let's ban it] …Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, "Hearken to the sound of the ram's horn." But they said, "We will not hearken." Therefore, hear, you nations, and know, O congregation… [the people of God among us] …what will happen to them. Hear, O earth, behold, I will bring evil on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts…'" (vs 17-19).
Think how evil it is. I have yet to see one movie advertisement—with the exception of two that have to do with God and saving people and helping them out of their trouble—that is not full of death and destruction and occult, and the worst kind of movies possible. It's absolutely amazing. Delores has said many times, Satan telegraphs what he's going to do through the movies before it comes. There it is!
This was tough for Jeremiah. Everyone in his own eyes doing what he or she thinks is right, doing all the things that they were doing, no different than we're doing today. They had worse than abortion! They had child sacrifice! Worse than abortion! That all comes from Satan the devil! That does not come from God!
If all the children were born and everyone was doing what God wanted them to do, He's make the crops sprout out with abundance of everything everywhere. There would be food plentiful. No! they have to have their own selfish ways.
Jeremiah 7:1: "The Word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,' Stand in the gate of the LORD'S house… [right where the Truth should be; right where the priests should be standing for the Truth] …and proclaim there this Word, and say, "Hear the Word of the LORD, all Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship the LORD."' Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Amend your ways…'" (vs 1-3)—correction, repentance offered, and who is to do the correcting? Each individual!
"…and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place" (v 3).
Jeremiah is 250 years after Isaiah! Remember what we read in Isaiah? There were two kings of Judah who revived things! That was all there was! Maybe Jehosphat, you could count him that would make three: Hezekiah, Josiah and Jehosphat!
All the children of Israel were long gone into captivity. Here they are in Jerusalem and Jeremiah says you don't have to go into captivity. But if you don't want to go into captivity then you have to do what I say.
Verse 4: "Do not trust in lying words, saying, 'The temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD are these'"—which means nothing without the presence and blessings of the Lord! Look what Manasseh did, but even he repented.
Just because you happen to go to a church, don't think you're in good standing with God, unless you love Him, obey Him and keep His commandments. Then you'll be in good standing with God, not until!
Verse 5: "For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor; if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your hurt; then I will cause you to dwell in this place… [today that's abortion, then it was child-sacrifice] …in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever. Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit. Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know; and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered to do all these abominations'?" (vs 5-10).
Today it is 'God's love is unconditional. It doesn't matter what you do.' NO! God's love IS conditional! And it does matter what you do! The Law has not been done away. What did Jesus guarantee that it had not been done away? Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Word shall never pass away!
- how deceived
- how evil
- how rotten
Is this world?
Verse 11: "'Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it,' says the LORD…. [He says, 'I want you to learn a lesson] …But now go to My place which was in Shiloh…'" (vs 11-12). That's where He first setup the tabernacle.
Remember what happened in the days of Samuel, Eli, Hophni and Phinehas? Because of their sins God wiped it away! He's going to do that with nation! It's going to be the most horrendous thing when it happens. It is going to be really terrible!
Yes, it is true that God is sending a message to this nation through the means that He has the power and control over: the weather—the rain—and if you want to be evil, by sending you lots of evil people and you're going to choke on your evilness until you repent!
You can say, 'How can that be a God of love?' Why don't you try loving God and see if things might change for you!
