After many days the flood stopped and the mountains appeared. The ark landed near Mount Ararat. After many more days the waters were dried up from off the earth and went back into the rivers and seas.
Then, God opened the door of the ark and Noah's family and all the animals came out. God put a rainbow in the sky. God told Noah the rainbow was a sign to all people that He will never destroy the earth with a flood again.
Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their wives, went out and started to fill the earth again with people. They had many children. Shem is the father of the white people; Ham is the father of the black people; Japheth is the father of the yellow people.
God said to Noah and his sons, “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth” (Genesis 9:1).
